Chapter Text
The couch was hellish, questionably worse than the shit mobile but not better by a long shot. Metal seemed to jut out in patterns Julian couldn't begin to grasp and the whole thing creaked and sighed with every move like at any moment it'd give up and let him go tumbling through to the floor boards.
Turning onto his stomach to avoid a particularly sharp bit of broken back board poking through the sallow cushions he was met with the cruel reality of a spring coil to the groin pressing him up with unfounded urgency.
He hated this. Hated the couch, hated the reminder that his soft, springless bed was in the other room, stolen by Ricky of all people. Really that was the worst, the thought of Ricky's face smushed up against his pillow, eyes glued shut, probably drooling in his sleep. Ew.
He'd have to wash the sheets tomorrow. Scrub off the inevitable stench and sweat actively staining his comforter. He wondered if Ricky ever snored, if he moved in his sleep or just lay still.
He knew from experience, listening to him on the couch through paperthin walls, that he would talk, usually nonsense but always entertaining. Sometimes it'd be one off murmuring but if Julian got lucky he'd get to listen in on a one sided argument and if he got really lucky he'd get to hear Ricky grunt and whine. Imagine him rolling his hips, pressing into the pillow he was hugging maybe he'd start to sweat, or curl his fists into the blanket and clench his teeth. Maybe he was girly, rolled on his stomach gasping delicately through a haze of sleep, face serene and completely unaware. Julian hoped not, he liked the other option better. Ricky grinding down hard, red in the face his eyebrows would pull together, he'd look almost mad but the growl in his voice would hitch into soft whines, giving him away. Ew.
Shaking the thought with a heavy turn, Julian glanced towards his room straining for the sounds of whatever terrible debauchery Ricky could be enacting in his sleep, but to his relief there was nothing but the rumbling of an old box fan pulling him into a dreamless slumber.
