“That’s nice,” Maki acknowledges, “but I’m not.”
Geto frowns. “...Not what?”
Maki looks up at him. “The girl of the group,” they answer simply.
Geto blinks. “You’re not?”
“Nope.” Maki takes another bite of cereal, amused as Geto’s face flickers through several different expressions as he tries to figure out how to respond. He opens his mouth, then closes it again. Maki would laugh at him if it weren’t also sort of heartwarming that he’s searching for the right thing to say.
(If he weren’t the only one who’d ever bothered to think through their response to Maki coming out to them.)

So Suguru isn’t going to make any snap judgments about Maki’s choice. He knows that the Zen’in Clan has been around for centuries and he knows that now, Maki and Megumi are the only two left. He knows that Maki killed everyone and she’s still wearing their blood.
He knows he made a very similar choice ten years ago.
ten years ago, geto suguru killed his parents. two days ago, maki zen’in killed hers.

Summary
He walks through corridors of haunting memories. Here was the hallway he and Shoko used to smoke in, a quieter part of the building that had nice ventilation so they could snub out their cigarettes and scram at the telltale creak of the floorboards. There was the window Satoru broke in one of their many squabbles, chunks of stone pelting Suguru in the face. Down the hall and to the left was the classroom Suguru would sneak away to when he wanted to study and Satoru was being especially annoying. Suguru's pretty sure that Satoru knew about that particular hideout anyway.
or Getou Suguru doesn't find himself after reclaiming his body, but his ghosts find him.
