In canon, the Red Spring of 126 AC is when Aemond lost his eye, but gained a dragon. In fanon, the Blue Spring is now an event to celebrate the moment (or moments) that the pairing of Helaena and Aemond Targaryen come together as a couple through works of art, fic, drabbles, edits, moodboards, & more.

01. Helaemond Blue Spring (HBS) has one goal: to use a prompt meme to facilitate the creation of fanworks about the various moments wherein Helaena and Aemond's relationship may have sprang into existence.

02. Multiple prompts may be submitted and a prompt may be claimed multiple times.

03. All universes are accepted (e.g. canonverse, modern au, mythology), as long as the main pairing is Helaemond and the work is about the two coming together as a couple.

04. There are two parts to this event: prompt submissions (via AO3) and prompt fills. Please submit prompts for all types of fanwork.

05. All works are accepted: art, fic, drabbles, edits, moodboards, TikToks, videos, Twitter threads (tag the first tweet), playlists, & whatever else you come up with! If you're unsure of how to categorize your submission to share, don't hesitate to contact a mod.

06. We hope to consolidate all submissions into the Blue Spring channels of the Helaemond Discord (so don't forget to share your submissions there), but there are also two touchpoints outside of this server: a collection on Archive of Our Own (where prompts are submitted/filled) and the hashtag #helaemondbluespring on all social media platforms.

GENERAL
01. What is a Prompt Meme?
A prompt meme is a collection on Archive of Our Own where people can leave prompts for fanworks that others can then claim. You can also browse and select prompts to fill, creating original fanwork to then be posted to the collection. Helaemond Blue Spring is a prompt meme dedicated to the pairing of Helaena and Aemond Targaryen, with no restrictions on length, content, or ratings, as long as every fill uses the appropriate tags and warnings. Prompts may be submitted anonymously or posted with your AO3 username attached (I've submitted one of each, one from my helaemond account and one on anon, so you can see the difference).

02. Who can participate?
Anyone can fill prompts. If you don't have an AO3 account, you may still fill prompts via social media by using the #helaemondbluespring hashtag. However, only AO3 members can submit prompts. AO3 accounts are free and the waiting period to join is usually less than a week.

SUBMIT A PROMPT
01. How many times can I submit a prompt?
One account may submit up to 25 prompts to Helaemond Blue Spring, but please keep each prompt brief (i.e. under 75 words).

02. Can I submit my own prompt to fill?
Yes.

03. How do I submit a prompt?
Click on the "sign-up" button at the archive link and fill out the prompt submission form. You may submit multiple prompts at once. You may edit your prompts or add more to your sign-up at any time.

04. How do I specify what I want in my fill?
Utilize tags! You get five per prompt submission. For example, if you really want your prompt filled in canonverse, simply tag it with "canon compliant".

FILL A PROMPT
01. How many times can a prompt be filled?
There is no limit on the number of times a prompt may be filled, but we request that people only claim one prompt at a time.

02. How do I find the prompts?
Go to the archive collection and select "prompts" on the sidebar. From there, you can browse everything available and see how many times a prompt has been claimed before deciding whether or not to claim it.

03. How do I fill a prompt?
First, claim the prompt on AO3 by selecting the "claim" button at the bottom of the prompt. Once you have claimed the prompt, a link to it will appear on your user dashboard. You then click the "fulfill" button and follow the instructions. Once you've submitted your fill, your prompter will be alerted by email and your work will automatically be included in the Helaemond Blue Spring collection.

04. How do I fill a prompt without an AO3 account?
If you have art, moodboards, etc but no AO3 account, you can fill the prompt by putting it on social media with the hashtag #helaemondbluespring.

05. Can I fill a prompt that has already been claimed?
Yes. Prompts may be claimed and filled by multiple participants.

06. Is there a word minimum for fic?
Nope. We want to be inclusive of everything. That includes drabbles and Twitter threads just as much as it does long fics :)

01. You have from now until March 31st to submit a prompt and fill :) we may extend this deadline if people need more time for fills or if the event is still going strong!

01. Don't Like, Don't Read
There are no content restrictions. You may stumble upon prompts and/or fills that you don't like (or that may even offend you). If this occurs, do not engage. We will not tolerate disparagement, excessive criticism, nor kinkshaming of participants.

02. Helaemond Focus
All prompts and fills submitted with the #helaemondbluespring tag or to the collection should have Helaena and Aemond as the main pairing. Side pairings are allowed, as are moresomes, as long as they are properly tagged and Helaemond is the primary relationship.

03. Fill in good faith, but follow your muse
Prompts are posted to help inspire ideas and creativity. We hope that you fill the prompts in good faith, but understand that sometimes things go in a different direction than planned. That's okay! If things get too far away from the original prompt, please relinquish your claim and submit/fill your own prompt so that your work is still included.

04. Tag Appropriately
As we have no content restrictions, it's up to the creators to tag work correctly to help people make the best choices for themselves when engaging with the collection and tags. Improperly tagged content may be removed from the collection.
