The intonation was just as he remembered, but the voice was much deeper.He turned and felt himself short circuit. It took every ounce of willpower to not let his jaw drop cartoonishly to the floor. “Oh, that’s easy.” His hand twisted a knob, and the notes came out sharper. “It is infected—Petrova Line and everything.”
In Grace's opinion, dreaming about time traveling is no excuse for getting out of practice with his Eridian. To the rest of the Petrova Taskforce, it seems a bit odd that their resident Astrophage expert has suddenly taken to carrying a keyboard around and playing it whenever he speaks. Eva Stratt resolves to figure out what is going on.

The first round of testing is successful; the night he returns to the ship, he and Eva fuck three times and end up talking instead of sleeping, anyway. She tells him that she missed him. He thinks that he might love her.)

Willis put an arm around Jason's shoulders and pulled him close, making him guess the make and model of whatever car was close enough for them to spot, close enough for him to point to. His voice was gentle but authoritative—like this was the one thing he had any sort of authority over as he taught Jason to watch for the signs. The ones with the flimsy whitewalls, the ones with sturdy builds. How much each went for at the secondhand automobile stores, and how much Gilly down at the chop shop would take them for. It had felt like a game or just talking shop to Jason then, sitting by the roadside with his dad, picking out the Fords from the Hyundais and laughing at each other about which ones they admitted to wanting to own one day.
It had never occurred to him that Willis was teaching him how to survive.

"Miya-san?"
Atsumu turns, sees Hinata standing in the doorway. He’s wearing that look in his eyes that sends chills down his spine. It’s the crow look; head tilted to the side and a kind of animalistic intensity burning within that makes him feel like he’s about to be devoured. Every so often he forgets this version of Hinata, until he’s out under the bright lights of court with the roar of the crowd in his ears, two points down on a set but knowing that giving up another is unthinkable.
Here Hinata is shadowed by the door frame, just outwith the overhead lights above the gym hall. It’s late now, the sky beyond the windows a matt black, and most of the team has already left. Atsumu’s still stuck on sharpening the curve of his hybrid serve, determined to work his way through it because he knows he won’t sleep otherwise. Sometimes the urge takes him and there’s no helping it.
“You know my brother,” he says, spinning the ball in his hands. “You can call me Atsumu.”
