Summary
"And without fame, a man must spend his life
Only to leave such traces upon earth
As smoke leaves in the air, or foam in the sea" - Dante-
"It's...complicated. Of course I'll try to win," he can't, "it's an honour to be here," it's not, "but I know it's going to be her. It's always going to be her. I-I'm sorry, I don't-"
Luckily, they take it as him being overcome by emotion and not the end of a shallow lie. How fucking delightful. He proffers an effete half-smile as the buzzer blares, catches a glimpse of himself on the viewfinder. Surely a child looks back at him, but a determined one. A strong child with bewitching dark eyes, well-muscled if lanky, towering easily over the presenter.
Reality finally registers; his milquetoast stylist has crafted from the scraps of his decaying personality an underdog. Someone to root for and cry for and adore.
He doesn't want this.
Does he?

"Listen, man, it's exactly what Jim said," Jackson says over dinner. "You just gotta put em in their place."
"I mean, force isn't exactly working," he says, chewing an oyster. The food nearly makes him sick, stuck up here in this penthouse like this.
"So just talk to them," Jackson insists. "Make Grian give an address, I don't know."
"No, it won't work," he mutters.
"It will if it's you," he says. "They believe you. Respect you? Maybe not so much. But you keep shovin em peacekeepers, they'll keep believing in your power."

Summary
We have not reached the end, no, we are still quite far from it.
We have not saved the princess from the tower, we have not played the last lingering note, and we still have only taken the first step beyond our safe haven.
This is not a hero's journey, this is a redemption arc.

Summary
Ted Nivison is the Victor of the 63rd annual Hunger Games. It’s a fact powerful enough to silence the entirety of District 10.
~
His home has been ripped away from him at the last possible second. And he’d survived. And now his home wouldn’t want him back even if he could return. They’d made that perfectly clear, and his empty bag feels heavier on his shoulder just thinking about it. Ted couldn’t express the depths of his fury if he tried.
So, he doesn’t.
Instead, Ted rightens his worn leather bag, filled with nothing but toxic smoke and useless pride, and reaches out to grab Carson’s shoulder, unsurprised to feel the muscles under his fingers tense up.
“Carson, my friend,” he begins, sounding as if he is in grave need and as if he and Carson have known each other for many long years.
“You wouldn’t happen to have a glass of milk?”
~
‘When the hope of morning starts to fade in me
I don't dare let darkness have its way with me
And the hope of morning makes me worth the fight
I will not be giving in tonight.’ -

"Here is the river, and here is the box, and here are the monsters we put in the box to test our strength against. Here is the cake, and here is the fork, and here's the desire to put it inside us, and then the question behind every question: What happens next?" — Richard Siken, Snow and Dirty Rain
.
It’s funny: for as long as he can remember, he’s always been Technoblade.

Or, the story of the Capitol's golden boy.
