      It hasn't been confirmed in the books one way or the other yet, and the show cut the whole arc simply for pacing. In the books Sam probably won't find a document at the Citadel detailing Rhaegar and Lyanna's relationship. Lord Reed is still alive. The whole Citadel document was kind of a stretch that nobody but Sam had looked at it in the 2 decades since the Rebellion.

      For this fan fiction he is the real Aegon.
