Summary
The sun is setting, and it’s not like he’s going to burst out in flames when his skin gets a little UV rays on it, it’s just irritating as hell. This time is no different, and he swoops into Otose’s bar before the kids can realize he’s down there. He feels bad, he really does, but there’s nothing he can do about it.
“Look here, back from the dead at last.” Otose smirks, already pouring him a glass of… something. He grins back at her, acknowledging the joke. It’s between them, a small little thing, but one Gintoki treasures nonetheless.

I always tried to be an ambitious and emancipated man, con-artist on the edges and former priest. Evan when caught up in stuff that one should not step in, I found a way out...somehow. But this time, my way out, that is supposed to liberate me from everything, that bought me too much guilt, unexpectedly took the appearance of a psychopathic handsome murder with absolutely no moral compass. And maybe it isn't so bad, because in the en, I stayed with him. And maybe, in the very end, I found myself more entangled in too much pride and faith than I should. But never once did I regret it.

A 1960S roadtrip AU in southern USA, along road 66 to Las Vegas, with a failed but too bold for his own good aimless young man, and a criminal that has way too much liking for strangulation and horrible fashion choices. One for revenge and the other for freedom, they found each other more reluctantly than not. But will stay together for the worse than the better.
