Summary
Six months before Voldemort killed Lily and James Potter, he wiped out an entire race of beings. They were known as elementals, here long before wizards, tending to the earth. When he felt their existence was a threat to him, he murdered them all.
All except for one. Ani.
For years, Albus Dumbledore kept her safe and hidden from Voldemort, knowing he would return. Now as an adult, Dumbledore has brought her back to Hogwarts, where she's taken on the role of Assistant Professor.
One professor in particular, Severus Snape, isn't thrilled to have someone impose on his lessons, much less a seemingly young and stupid girl. He prefers working alone and doesn't appreciate her presence. However, as time goes on, he finds himself growing curious as to who she is and what she's doing at Hogwarts, especially with no magic.
She certainly isn't what he was expecting.
