Today should, by all means, not be any different.
And yet it is.
It is, because of how she feels GLaDOS’ presence hovering over her, when she wakes, compared to the simple presence of a camera in the corner. It is, because she has never before been bound like this, with her legs splayed to the sides and her wrists bound by the sides of her head…. Never been bound upon waking, nor even in any of her time in the faculty at all. Always she has only ever been trapped, never bound…
… It is, because of what GLaDOS says to her, when the super computer finally realises that she is awake.

Connor never expected to wake up from forced stasis deep within Cyberlife’s facility, at least not as a deviant with his memories as intact as he can be for something 1,000 years old.
Issac never expected to wake up to a Earth run by machines and tribal humans, he never expected it to survive the Brethren Moons, he didn’t expect him to actually make it off of the Ishumura, Aegis 7, Titian- let alone the CMS Terra Nova.
Hiccup never expected to find an entire world outside of the archipelago and the water surrounding it filled with beings made entirely of metal.
