Even though he knew it was the last time he’d hug, be seen by, or talk with his dear friends, , he lived in that moment as long as he could before it was all over, even if it hurt.
It was so hard to just accept that there was no going back. He really didn’t want to leave it here, but what choice did he have? It was only right to help the Monsters—to sacrifice himself for them. It brought the justice that they lacked, even if it was just a bit. It helped.
…Though, even if hoping felt futile in his permanent state, he couldn’t help but wish, wish that someone would come—that someone would be there to at least accompany him in this cold silence.
…And maybe, just maybe, there would be.

Irritated.
One wrong movement away from snapping completely.
Then—
"I might know someone."
Chuuya dragged a hand down his face.

Kouyou smiled.
That should’ve been the first warning sign.
A few minutes later, the studio door opened again.
Chuuya barely looked up at first, still scrolling through old schedule emails on his phone.
"Well," a familiar voice drawled lazily, "this feels hostile already."
