“God, Arthur, I really could have used you on that one,” Cobb said miserably, collapsing into the booth across from the point man. Arthur had started to let a sympathetic smile spread across his face before he froze, staring wide-eyed at Cobb.
There was something lingering on Cobb that had Arthur’s nostrils flaring. He nearly reached over to grab the man’s jacket and pull him forward to scent it more clearly. Arthur held back, but just barely. He let his fingers curl in on themselves instead, trying to ground himself, trying to center. He was breathing hard, each new lungful of air bringing a fraction of that scent with it, shooting to his hindbrain, pulling and screaming with vicious intensity.
Arthur’s gaze snapped to Cobb’s and the extractor’s eyes suddenly looked hunted. Arthur could feel himself slipping, something wild and intent taking his place, filling out his body to the tips of his fingers. He watched Cobb squirm with a sort of sickening hunger.
“Who,” Arthur asked, “did you do the job with?”

Arthur gets hurt on a job and Eames takes him home to recover. It’s nothing to fuss about, really. He just likes Arthur. In a professional way. Like a colleague. It’s not like he’s about to fall in love with Arthur or something.

Everyone knows Arthur's a control freak, especially Eames. He is, after all, an expert in human nature. Which makes him an expert in Arthur.
Right?Excerpt:
...but then, Ariadne paused.
“Do you know how Arthur takes his coffee?”
For a moment, Eames was completely stunned, because the answer was no, he did not know how Arthur took his coffee. He had known Arthur for four years, had worked no less than twelve jobs together (four of them long cons), and he had absolutely no idea. He could recite Cobb’s order (cream only), Ariadne’s (raw sugar and a small dollop of cream, Yousef’s (simple syrup and extra cream), hell, he’d only see Saito drink coffee once and he could give Saito’s order (just one, full scoop of sugar, like he was indulging himself). But not Arthur’s.
He couldn’t even say for sure that Arthur preferred coffee. “Black,” he said definitively, because the Arthur Eames knew had to drink his coffee black, probably shade grown, small lot, dark roast, black coffee. But he didn’t know.
Ariadne frowned. “If you’re sure.” -
