    Jason whistles. “Well, shit.”

    Tim can kill people with a touch, and Jason can bring people back to life. When they find out their powers go haywire in each other's proximity, they begin spending time together to attempt to fix it. Things spiral from there.

    Tim was a lonely kid, and there was only so much to do in an empty house filled with everything but the warmth of living bodies. So when his parents bring back an ancient book that they can’t read from one of their expeditions, Tim asks if he can have it. Unlike with the more fragile and expensive artifacts, they decided to humor him without thinking much on it. He very quickly finds out that the book is in fact an occult grimoire. Now, Tim was generally considered very smart for his age, a genius even. But he was still 10, and he was very curious to see if this book was real. One ritual and one demon later he makes a wager, if the demon can beat him at a game of cards he can take his soul, but if Tim wins then he gets 5 extra years of life. It seemed like a good idea at the time, and the demons at least provided him some entertainment. Now Tim is 17. He’s been 17 for a long time, not that anyone seems to notice his lack of aging.

    Tim was a lonely kid left in a house of artifacts. So when he finds a book that can summon demons, he decides to give it a try. Somehow this leads to him becoming practically immortal and John Constantine's apprentice, all without the Bats knowing.

    Tim, an eight year old mage, is desperate to summon a familiar - something that happens when mages are, at the youngest, sixteen. Unfortunately, magic doesn't particularly care if you desperately need a familiar to earn your parents love.

    Excerpt:
    Even Tim, at the Grand Old age of eight wasn't foolish enough to try twice in a day, so he cleaned his things and left the basement, unsatisfied.

        With his sudden dizziness, he wouldn't even be able to try and find Batman tonight.

        It fit, he supposed. His parents didn't want him and made it clear he wouldn't be part of the family without a good familiar (damn uncle Eddie and his slightly magical neon blue chicken). Why would a magical creature want him either?

      He was the only ‘mudblood’ in his Year and it was like a metaphorical kick-me sign on his forehead. The ponce, Draco Malfoy, especially liked feeding his superiority complex by pushing him around. But Tim didn’t think much of his attempts at intimidation (or anyone else’s, for that matter). He and Draco had grown up under roughly the same financial situations, but judging by Draco’s overall propensity at being a brat, his mother wasn’t anywhere near as scary as Janet Drake.

      Tim didn’t care one bit about the hierarchy and power plays of Slytherin house.

Robin gently placing a bandaid on the skinned knee of young girl, spinning a dramatic tale to distract her from the pain. Jason standing in the parking lot of Gotham academy, rambling excitedly about The Great Gatsby to an amused Dick Grayson. Robin grinning over his shoulder at Tim as Tim raised his camera.

    Gotham needed a Robin.

    But Robin was dead.

    Tim thought about Robin, cold and broken and still under Gotham’s soil. Robin, whose last moments had been pain and terror. Robin, calling for a father who would arrive too late. Robin, who would never fly again.

    Gotham needed a Robin.

    But Robin was dead.

    Robin is dead. Tim Drake is going to fix that.

    Tim could never understand why his mother would always get so upset with him when he tried to dress himself. Shirt, pants, shoes, tie. He had all the items positioned perfectly. So why was she angry?
    His mother would always pull him aside with a bruising grip at galas to hiss at him to quit making odd noises. That it was disgraceful. But how else was he supposed to see? To orient himself without clicking his tongue or tapping his foot to feel the vibrations was something he hadn’t learned yet. He’d do better.
    Timmy was 8 when he finally understood. Apparently, other people didn’t use sound to view where things were. Apparently, their eyes showed them something other than an inky nothing. They didn’t have to push a piece of themselves into an object to ‘see’ it like he had learned to do when he was 7. Apparently, their eyes showed way he ‘saw’ was a weakness. His mother didn’t tolerate weakness. He couldn’t let them find out.

    Or a fic where Tim was born blind, but no one noticed because he learned some unique ways to handle himself.
