Summary
All stories have to start somewhere. Or at least, Techno is pretty sure that's the case, even though there are a lot of places he could say his story started. Being born is a pretty classic one, moving back to Italy could probably pass as a coming of age story of some sort, and if he was writing a memoir, he'd start at the part where he got turned into a pig. People usually start those with a dramatic anecdote from the middle of their lives, from what he remembers, and then go on to actually talk about how they got there.

“Undress you?” The words left her in a whisper. “Is such a thing sacred?”
“Yes,” he breathed, and Cleo shuddered despite herself. He gripped her arm, pulling her in. “To take my silks is to possess my heart and soul, as the skins of seal-folk. You remember, of course, how the god of travel and arts stripped the god of war and sky. Make a mortal thing of me.”
Cleo has never seen her husband; the father of her children. He only visits in the dark.
