Simon is bitter, again and again: until he flinches at Josh's touch; until he blacks out to red warning signs across his feedback screens; until he can hear the squelch of thirium-wet biocomponents and feel the burn of them being squeezed in his body, by real, human hands, damaging the wires of his spine and legs as the fingers tug, further increasing their disrepair.
