“Why do you look like that?” he asks before he can stop himself.
“Look like what?” Trevor responds, still frowning.
“Like you’re mad at me,” Brandon says, and he means for it to come out more casual than it does.
“I’m not mad at you,” Trevor says, but it’s not convincing at all.
“Yes you are. What did I do?”
Trevor chews on his lip, avoiding eye contact. He moves the washcloth to Brandon’s ear, and this time Brandon can’t help the way he winces. Trevor doesn’t let up though, grips his jaw just on the side of too tight to hold him in place. He still won’t respond, but Brandon knows he can wait him out and he’ll break eventually. They sit in silence for another minute or two, Trevor looking more upset by the second, his hold on Brandon’s face turning painful.
“Why did you call Sean and not me?” His voice is small, insecure. “I could've helped, you know.”
