Every day that he’s been out of surgery, that’s about the moment Izuku shows up.
He’s less and less unprepared for the sound of his door being opened at this hour, the mechanical click from the handle and the heavy, low squeak of the panel shifting slowly ajar. It’s been about a week, now. Even the first time, Katsuki had a hard time feeling the shock he tells himself he maybe should have.
Instead, like every other time, he feels relief.

Any soothing teas or appreciation gifts haven’t quelled his mind nearly as much as Lohen’s body.

i really want to start by thanking my beautiful gorgeous amazing stunning kind girlfriend for recommending this to me this was SO hype.... also spoilers ahead (? lowkey..) oops
this fic hurt so bad in a way that i appreciate. as pointed out in the notes at the end of this work, i did feel ,, slightly akin to illuga in the sense that i was giggling and kicking my feet at the beginning and then feeling a sudden pain in my soul during a good portion of the final scene (/VERY VERY VERY POS). does anybody else feel like their screen is getting blurry uh oh..
i adored the way illuga's downward spiral was portrayed through the mini scenes(?) early into the fic. i am a huge fiend for authors depicting a larger idea in the structure of their work & i thought that sort of idea was done soso well. im actually frothing at the mouth as i type this just thinking back on it. this PLUUSSSS freak4freak illuhen in one fic had me screaming actually (/pos again) i really need. more of all of what was done here. tldr this was peak fiction would 100% read again ,!!

Rocky starts to relax for a split second, but then tightens when something occurs to him.
“Grace crewmates dead when you wake up. You said this, statement. You not even know your own name, remember nothing, see dead bodies, confirm?”
I nod, because if I open my mouth I will gag.
“When last time Grace touch ALIVE human person, question.”
I swallow thickly. I don’t answer aloud because I know Rocky can hear the hitch in my breath. My stomach churns with fresh bile. He senses my vital signs tick over into stress patterns and goes very, very still again.
“Grace. When last time, question.”
I clench my jaw so hard my temples ache, and beg him with my eyes to just stop.
“Grace. Please say not when… when Evil Stratt humans put you to sleep.”
I can taste grass.
