Summary
After a building collapse leaves KORTAC trapped underground for nearly forty-eight hours, tensions rise as injuries, exhaustion, and hidden fears come to light. When Nikto’s attempt to hide a serious arm injury fails, Krueger finds himself doing everything he can to keep the stubborn operative alive—even if it means pinning him down for first aid.
As the hours drag on in the cramped closet, old walls begin to crack. Nightmares, vulnerability, and feelings neither man intended to reveal become impossible to hide. By the time rescue finally arrives, the entire team knows there’s something between them.
Back home, however, facing each other proves harder than surviving the collapse. With nightmares lingering and emotions running high, Nikto and Krueger must decide whether to keep pretending—or finally admit what everyone else figured out long ago.
