Welcome to the world of After Midnight!
Like Anecdotes and World Underneath are to LADs. This work is not truly a fanfic stand alone. But rather a collection of supportive, supplementary, dedicated appendix to my core story: After Midnight.A place of behind the scenes (hence the name Backstage) where fun side stories, side or extra/additional content, characters development, and shenanigan ideas could be posted and shared. “Wangji, are you unwell?” The tone is brusque, but only because Lan Qiren at his gentlest hasn’t any talent at all for soft words. The worry in the frown and the wrinkled forehead is as unmistakable as that in Wei Wuxian’s expression for the past weeks.
Lan Wangji is an adult; he knows now that there is no shame in lying about such a personal matter. But that would require an energy that he does not currently possess, and it is easier—a relief of a different shape than the silence—to say, “In a sense.” He pauses, but only to gather his words; his uncle waits, frown deepening. “I have missed several doses of my testosterone injections,” Lan Wangji says, as clinically as he can. “When we moved across the city, I attempted to transfer my prescription to the pharmacy by our new apartment. Apparently this demands new approval from the insurance company, and they have been slow to respond.” The anger has gathered sharp and fragmented as glass in his throat now, so he stops speaking. There is not anything more to explain, anyway; the facts of the matter are as simple as they are unchangeable.

Wei Wuxian follows him. “Okay,” he says, a question in the word that follows aloud without pause. “Was there a problem with the refill? I thought they left you one of those comforting automated messages that it was ready.”
A half-empty sack of potatoes sits in the first cupboard that Lan Wangji opens, so he removes it to the counter. The cutting boards are where they belong, tucked beside the microwave. “Yes. That was for the needles and syringes, apparently. They contacted the wrong doctor for the testosterone renewal.”

It is easier to tell these things to the violently purple fabric under his cheek, so Lan Wangji does so. “I do think about it,” he says.
