Throughout the hotel,Alastor keeps "accidentally" running into Lucifer before it is revealed that he is purposefully circling Lucifer. Both of them don't want to talk about the dangerous habit that grows out of this irritation. In the end, Lucifer makes a deal that allows Alastor to stand between him and the things that want to harm him, even though Lilith might still be trying to retake the throne and someone could still come very close to the Devil, that might be the safest and scariest thing he's done in a long time.
Lucifer paused at the door, then glanced back.

The storm is still two hours off according to JARVIS, but at this point, the team can’t communicate clearly over the roaring wind and they run the risk of injuring themselves or getting themselves killed if they can’t coordinate their rescue efforts. He should have expected the question, but it still took his breath away. Because yes, every time his phone rang, some small surge of hope rushed through him.
