Silver, Tangle, and Whisper all wind up on an accidental adventure together involving an unusual time-traveling device using a chaos emerald identical to Silver's. Starline has apparently not only mysteriously survived the cave-in after being left for dead by Eggman in issue 50, but is quite alive and well. Maybe not sane, though. He's out to change the history of the Eggman War. When Silver and Tangle lose sight of Whisper everything falls apart even more with Starline attempting to meet Eggman in time to help him win everything over his enemies.
(Takes place some time after "Battle for the Empire" and takes a new route after this arc. It also assumes a slightly different account of the events of "Sonic Forces" especially in how Zero becomes Infinite.)

4 years and a half had passed since the galaxy emerged victorious against the Reapers. Recovery process is still ongoing, with the trauma of the war still lingering on, physical, mental, and emotional.
Inspired by the unfinished diaries that her former mentor, Admiral David Anderson, left in his former Citadel Apartment prior to his demise, now retired Commander Katherine Shepard decides to do her own diary detailing her early life, her career, the defining three years of her life, and what has she been up to since the end of the Reaper War.
Although it might be for the fun of it or just out of boredom, Shepard is writing her diary to help find her own closure.
NOTICE: This fic is based on the ending headcanon from AHEM (Audemus Happy Ending Mod), so no Catalyst, no Mass Relays damaged/destroyed, and no Geth/EDI being destroyed either. Additionally, it's based on CEM (Citadel Epilogue Mod), so expect the events of Citadel DLC to play out a few years after the Reaper War.
I should also mention that EGM and LE1/LE3 DP mods factor into this story.

The pressure intensified when he saw the sun grow to its fullest position in the sky, when he ate a good meal, when Master Beldaruit gently pat him on the head, or when Olruggio grabbed his hand and ran—when the world was right, and things were warm, and he sat on the shore and could feel something grow and spiral within his flesh, under his eyelids. Qifrey felt it, and after the Tower of Tomes, he knew what it meant—knew the cursed nature—and he felt guilt grow like a weed in a garden, soil clumping under his fingertips. Even when the water crept up, and he thought about drowning and old wooden boxes under tree roots and daft soil—even then—he was stuck in his little spot between living and giving up. Not knowing who he was before, not understanding how it could have happened—the water had cradled him, and he loathed it—the disgust of being born anew, memories squeaky clean.
When Olruggio told him keep your promise, shining and bright, Qifrey wished he could break it instead. This didn’t change, even when they graduated. This didn’t change at all.

Post-TLG and canon compliant except that Ilya is a non-smoker and Shane is addicted to nicotine. The title is a play on Love in the Time of Cholera.
