Buck bites down on the immediate Yes, please, help me, I’m drowning, that wants to pour out of his throat. He doesn’t want to sound desperate even though the truth is that he is desperate. It’s been too long since he got anywhere close to touching that wonderful weightless place that takes him away from everything wrong and worrying in his life. The last time was with Eddie months ago and he’s just barely gotten to graze the surface before the dom was bringing him back up, their time cut short. He wants it bad enough to beg on his knees for. He needs to go to that place where he can float and feel safe instead of unmoored and unwanted.
“Do you want to?” he forces himself to ask. Yes, he’s a selfish, greedy man but he won’t let himself use Eddie like this. If he doesn’t want to do this, really want to, Buck won’t say yes.
“I’m offering, Buck,” he reminds him. “I want to.” He sounds so sure about it that Buck is helpless to resist any longer.

Shane isn’t floating, he’s falling. Sinking down, down, down below, into darkness. It feels like there are waves crashing over his head, cold and sharp like needles against his skin, and when he does manage to breach the surface for a moment, he’s met with thick fog and a starless sky. It feels sort of like a concussion, but not. There’s no pain, just…haziness. Just a gaping, empty feeling, right in the centre of his chest.

The man’s lashes flutter. “Shane, sir.”
Ilya nods and lets his hand move through Shane’s hair. It is soft, and Shane leans into the touch, eyes closing briefly as if the contact alone is enough to ground him. The response is so natural that it gives Ilya pause.
“Tell me about your limits.” Ilya doubts he is going to be close to any limits tonight, as Shane looks like he already had a pretty rough night. But he still needs to ask, good hygiene.
A small smile appears on Shane’s face, he looks at Ilya deeply, eyes not wandering away as he speaks, “There are no limit, sir.” He looks at the disbelief appearing on Ilya’s face and offers, “I’m the house slave.”
Or, Ilya didn’t come for attachment, but Shane, bruised, obedient, and unraveling, becomes the one thing he can’t leave broken.
