The Emperor was a God, radiating power in his commanding robes and laurel crown, beautiful and sharp in the way glass cuts or wounds bleed. Kal-El caught his breath and swallowed, the pale Emperor extending his hand to the chanting thrum of thousands of spectators, as his emerald locks eyes with him.
'Yes,' The Emperor seemed to say, as he turns and speaks to the shadows, Kal-El's ears ringing from the absence of focused sound he was so familiar with. 'Anything.'
Then, the Emperor raises his thumb— and condemns him to Life.

Summary
Clark has accepted what it means to be Lex's prisoner - the pain of the Green, the experiments, the hands on it. The long years buried in its containment cell, let out only to act as Lex's weapon, as Lex's tool. It had fought back at first, but years have ground it down and away to almost nothing.
Then Lex hands it a baby. And Clark realizes that while it may have hurt humans, and lied about what it is, and it may deserve to be locked away - Kon deserves to be free.

Every time he opened his mouth, he felt Luthor’s voice snake into his mind and wrap around squeezing Tim’s thoughts tightly until all that was left was Luthor.
Do not speak unless spoken to. Do not waste time with pointless chatter. Do not make mistakes.
So Tim stayed quiet. He stayed hidden behind his mask. He was careful, because careful felt safe. If he stayed silent, they wouldn’t notice him and point fingers. They wouldn’t be able to be disappointed.
[Tim has pulled himself out of Luthor’s grasp, but the freedom hasn’t been all he thought it would be. Even with the support from all the bats, he feels out of place. Tim can’t help but fear that no matter how hard he tries, he’ll never become the hero they believe he can be.]

Summary
It was done, he told himself. Whatever change had occurred in the timeline, it was already in the past, irreversible as any other event. And after all, he’d known Marty for only a week. It was irrational to think of him as a friend. It was wildly irrational, to mourn something that had never existed.
After hearing about the birth of the McFly family's second daughter, Doc Brown can only conclude that the worst has happened and that Marty has somehow been erased from time. He resigns himself to being alone, but when he crosses paths with the new McFly kid he can't help but make a friend.
