Shinsou nodded, smirking. “He’s dense as a rock. Hell, I bet if you straight-up kissed him, he’d just go, ‘Huh. Weird bro behavior.’” It was a joke—they both knew it. But Fumikage still couldn’t help the slight bristle of protectiveness that crept in.
“He’s not stupid,” Fumikage glared.
He snorted, raising his hands in mock surrender. “Sorry, sorry. But hey, you didn’t say anything about him being dense.”
Fumikage opened his mouth to argue—then sighed, shoulders slumping.
“Because he is.”

Enjin was not, had never been, and would likely never be a dad - regardless of the fact that he legally had kids. Except .. it just so happened that when one of those kids lost himself to a headspace smaller than usual, Enjin sort of did become a dad. That was okay, he could be a dad sometimes.
