Summary
Mel is looking forward to her first date in many years with a guy she met at the Ren Faire. Trinity is intrigued while Langdon is upset for some reason. Unfortunately, it doesn’t go as well as she hoped, leaving her feel worthless. Thanks to some quick thinking by Santos, Langdon helps make Mel’s night end on a good note.
This is my first Kingdon fic. It is multi-chapter so I will be posting one chapter at a time. I want to thank all my fellow Kingdon shippers for the inspiration. The restaurant name is a real one in Pittsburgh, and I’ve mentioned a dish from their menu but anything else is from my own mind. Also, I have no knowledge of hospital shift timetables, and my spelling is not Americanised since I live in Australia. This is not Beta read so there may be mistakes.Anyway, enough rambling. Enjoy!

“Please, I’ve survived worse.” Like betraying you. “How else d’ya think I’m still here after two hundred years? Though, I hope you ain’t makin’ a habit o’ leavin’ me for dead.”
Lucy chuckles sheepishly. Presses her lips together before hiding her face in the crook of his neck. “I was afraid I’d never see you again.”
He overcomes his hesitation. Dares to wrap his arms around her, hugging her tight. “Yeah. I was ‘fraid o’ the same thing."
She looks up at him again, hopeful. “Really?”
Cooper swallows hard. “Really.”

AKA, lucy returns inside the vault and comes across cooper as he's trying to leave and they hash it out right there...in a way he knows he shouldn't let happen but he also knows he can't resist her much longer...especially when she looks at him the way she does

It’s Lucy’s first unmedicated heat and she’s never missed the vault so bad. She's had a heat before but never like this, never hungry and painful and so miserably horny she feels like she's going to die. Never in the hot, dry wasteland with only an old ghoul for company. An old ghoul who smells amazing, like whiskey and leather, and who looks kind of handsome in the right light. A ghoul she’s trying not to beg for help from right now because she knows he sees her as just a silly omega vaultie and he’s a rough and tumble kind of alpha but she still wants, god does she want.
