1. Sirius is an idiot
2. He categorically and unequivocally hates James PotterHe hates his stupid grin, his blatant arrogance when he knew he was right, his insufferable laugh whenever he confuses his friends by speaking in another language, the way he always went out of his way to annoy Regulus in the library or in lessons. Regulus absolutely hates James Potter.
And there is no number of Sirius’ stupid jokes that will ever change that.

“We’ll just have to talk him into it,” Sirius said dismissively, either missing the look or ignoring it. “That is just what we need. It’s a brilliant mix of elegance and violence.”
