Once upon a time; Gothel stole another child. This is the story of the lost heir of a kingdom, their discovery and what it may portend for the future. Too bad things have a tendency to go right to hell around these parts, what with assassination attempts, grown men acting like children, threats of war on the horizon, and unexpected family.
(the first two chapters were originally posted in my ficlet collection In Knots but as Phantom and I discussed it and started passing ideas back and forth, it grew. Expect hijinks.)

“We got to get you off this plane.”
The panic set in her bones when Owen climbed over to her seat—because of course she was sitting in the only ejector seat with a parachute in the entire damn plane—and made sure that she was strapped in and checked every mechanism as if that’s all he could do, because in those moments, that’s all he could do when the plane was falling and the they were losing altitude and there really wasn't enough time for anything else.

“So… there’s a dinosaur in the living room,” Owen says conversationally, smiling as he steals a cherry tomato from the salad she’s making. It would’ve been her dinner, except for said dinosaur- currently exploring their couch- who had sniffed out her salad and spent the next ten minutes dancing around her feet begging for pieces of kale and spinach.
“Not you too,” Claire grumbles, nudging the bowl out of his reach. “She’s a little menace and she’s already eaten half my dinner.”
“Can we back up a bit? To the part where there’s a baby dinosaur in the house when I’m pretty sure you explicitly forbid that?” Owen asks, winding his arms around her waist and dropping a kiss at the back of her neck.
