Opposites tend to attract. Their clear differences usually make them stronger together in some manner, which is why Dabi and Hawks are so good for each other. However, there is a blatant rift between them that is keeping the pair apart: the challenge to leave their respective responsibilities behind for a chance at a happier ending. Can they overcome their discrepancies and choose to walk the same path together?
While this fic is very Dabi/Hawks centric, and takes place during the period in which Hawks has infiltrated the league for the HPSC, there is a minor subplot in which Deku and Shoto find themselves captured by the league of villains. They are both wanted for different reasons that will ultimately affect the larger narration revolving around them. How does Shoto and Deku's capture add adversity to the already complicated matter afflicting Hawks? What happens when identities get revealed? Will there be path divergence that leads to a happy ending? Read to find out.

“I’ve heard that a bounty was placed on a specific rebel pilot, but they don’t have a name or a face, just a call sign. It would make sense to keep that pilot away from the ship that has that call sign marked across it. Make it harder for their best man to be captured.”
Luke didn’t flinch, didn’t give any indication that the man was right. He grabbed onto the box on the chest of the orange and white suit, where the ship it connected to would be marked. Tilting it just slightly, the red number 5 was clearly visible printed on top of it.
“So you are Red Five,” the Mandalorian said, a sense of pride and a desire which turned Leia’s stomach curling in his voice.
