Summary
It’s not easy to watch as Dick attempts to recollect himself to something presentable, like it could at all wash away what Jason has accidentally run in on. He rubs at his sweaty forehead, pinches at his watery eyes, runs a hand through his hair. A shiver runs down the entirety of his frame. A shaky inhale, then Dick blinks up at him with ruddy cheeks. “Oh,” he croaks. “Jason.”

Summary
He wasn't Bruce’s son. That was Damian— that was Dick, and even Jason.
But not Tim.
He was just a placeholder.
Just someone keeping the seat warm before someone else claimed it. Before it got too cold.
A stand-in.
A replacement.
A nobody.
He might have a room and his things in the Manor, a suit to put on in the BatCave— but he didn't have a place in the family. Not really.
After the event of Batman and Robin #1 (2009) and Red Robin #1 (2009), Tim was left hurt by Dick’s decision to appoint Damian as his Robin. He was even more hurt when his brother didn't believe that Bruce was still alive, causing their relationship to fracture and making him doubt his place in the family.
Now that Bruce returned, all Tim wanted was his brother back.

Summary
He itched to follow his son upstairs, make sure he was alright, but he also knew that he couldn’t just yet. Dick had asked for space and even if, in Bruce’s opinion, that might not be what he needed right now, what he did need was Bruce respecting his boundaries, so that was what he would do.
The other very good reason for staying downstairs was the rest of his children gathered in the entryway of the house; looking lost, bruised and exhausted to the bone. Not to mention, absolutely soaked. The thunder and heavy raindrops hitting the rooftop could still be heard from outside.
“Alright, status report.“
Or: Stranded in an old safehouse during a storm, Bruce is dead-set on making sure all of his kids are alright. No one is alone tonight.

Summary
Dick Grayson had no issue with being the rock of his family. He’d be there to help them with anything that came with being in a cape before being allowed to drive, and anything else they needed. What were big brothers for?
Dick needs someone to take care of him, so I gave him Jason.
