When the Conclave at the Temple of Sacred Ashes was announced, Mahanon, a hunter of the Clan Lavellan, believed the outcome would shape the fate of the world.
Concerned for the clan’s future, he persuaded the Keeper to let him spy on the meeting. His task was simple: observe, listen, and return with news that might help the clan decide how to navigate the unrest.
But the Conclave never had a chance to begin.A catastrophic explosion ripped through the temple, killing all those present, including the Divine herself. Somehow, Mahanon survived. He awoke alone among the ruins; a strange green mark seared into his hand and no memory of how he escaped. Rumors spread quickly—some claimed they had seen Andraste, guiding him out of the blast.
Taken into custody by the Inquisition, Mahanon learned that the mark on his hand was the only thing capable of sealing the rifts tearing open across Thedas. Determined to protect his people and the world beyond them, he committed himself to closing the Breach and aiding the organization. In time, he became known as the Herald of Andraste, and the Inquisitor.
