Peggy Carter dealt in absolutes: right and wrong, allies and enemies. But some things can't be stuffed into absolutes.
Found bleeding out and discarded by the people who made her, Dottie Underwood expects to be treated like a defective tool. Instead, Peggy offers her a safe place to break.
As the days bleed into weeks of shared body heat, night terrors, and forced isolation, Peggy's tactical justification crumbles.

Summary
12th century England was a dark time of brutal violence and chaos.
Margaret “Peggy” Bartholomew, the earl of Shiring’s only daughter, was the jewel of the English. Her last name tied her to empress Maud’s side of the civil war. Against them, the constable’s granddaughter, Dorothea “Dottie” de Mandeville, a proclaimed confessor at the tower of London, was a prominent leader for Stephen of Blois’s army.
Each of them took an oath to put their leader on the throne of England. They didn’t know that the cost of those oaths would put the presumably rivals together.
The war went on. This is a story of how they met, betrayed each other, kissed and killed for one another, though not in that particular order.
