    Rooster couldn't see anything, couldn't feel anything, couldn't think of anything, except the motionless man in front of him. 
     
    Mav, the Maverick, unconscious, dishevelled, and bleeding, and despite his best effort, wouldn't wake up to his desperate calls. 
     
    He knelt down and, ignoring his frenetic heart from all the landing and running, gingerly cradled Mav's face with his hands. "Mav, Maverick." No response. He patted the older man's cheek, pressed the philtrum with a trembling finger, and shook his shoulders. Still nothing.

    He owes me the talk, Rooster thought, stubbornly and a little petulantly. He promised, he promised, he is not allowed to go back on his word.

     

     

    An extension of the mutual saving scene in TGM, in which Maverick was a little bit more hurt than Canon. Rooster panicked. Maverick, in his coma, went to a mysterious place and saw some faces he missed very much.
