When Ashley Graham first met Leon Kennedy during the horrible ordeal of being kidnapped by a crazy cult, she had initially assumed the young man was part of a team. That he was the infiltration guy who could quickly get in and get her out without drawing too much attention. That they’d be meeting up with a team of US-STRATCOM agents or Army Rangers or something.
Then he called for extraction and she realized there was no team. There wasn’t even a ride waiting for them. They were very much on their own.
Ashley’s stunned confusion quickly morphed into fear, then sorrow, and then anger before she’d had time to process any of those feelings.But then, Los Illuminados was upon them and Leon went straight into action.

He plunges his sword into the ground — a familiar, practiced motion. The world pauses for a moment, and he sees the purple threads of blighted chroma ensnaring Gustave; pulls, yanking them towards himself. The pulsing chroma freezes for a second, tightening around the engineer. Then, like a pouncing predator, jumps at Verso.
The world starts moving again. A wave of nausea and fatigue almost knocks Verso to the ground, and it’s a miracle that he manages to dodge the next attack.
Gustave is staring at him, trying to process what just happened.
“Run,” Verso croaks.

They’d stopped just in front of a candy shop. A gaudy pink sign on the window advertised the store’s special Valentine’s Day chocolates, guaranteed to make your crush fall in love with you. On the sign were an abundance of red hearts, images of the shop’s offerings, and an angel. Not an Angel Devil, but a cartoon cupid with fluffy white wings and rosy cheeks and a sparkling halo, holding a bow with a heart tipped arrow. A speech bubble above its head read, “The kiss of an angel would make anyone fall in love! Buy two, get one 25% off!”
Aki looked at Angel, with his messy hair and pale skin and drooping wings and ill fitting suit. He tried to picture his Angel dressed up like the one in the window. “Yeah,” Aki said, unable to hold back a slight smile at the amusing contrast the two angels presented, “I can see why you’d hate it.”
Valentine's Day with Aki and Angel includes going on patrol, killing devils, and a human eating chocolates out of a devil's hand.
