Jake lost it.
He didn’t know if it was because his rut was close, or because he was over-tired from the tour. Or, maybe, he couldn’t stand to see someone so clearly enjoying making his pup miserable. He moved forward boldly, walking straight through the metal detector.
“You can’t touch him without a reason; he’s a minor,” Jake growled out in English. “This isn’t proper security protocol.”
Jake reached out for Ni-ki, intending to pull him away from the officer. She pulled back, startled, and Ni-ki took a step back too, his eyes locked behind Jake. Before Jake could place his hand on Ni-ki’s shoulder, something large rushed into him from behind.
An airport security check goes wrong, and Jake gets caught in the crossfire.

“There is nothing to be embarrassed about, you know?” Yuma said softly, not daring to take a step forward to Taki, who still looked like a beaten up overgrown puppy. “I wish I could forget my first kiss. It was so awkward that I didn’t talk to the other person for a whole month after that and when I did was to ask him to forget about it.”
“You at least had it,” Taki let out resentfully, the laughs from before had been long forgotten and an acidic feeling was settling in his stomach.
This time when Yuma looked at him, there was a glint of doubt in his irises. As if he were wondering whether to do something or not. Maybe he wanted to exchange rooms with another member after Taki made it weird, maybe he just wanted to run away altogether.
Feeling his heart sinking deeper than it already was, nothing could have prepared Taki to the next words the Yuma was about to utter. “I mean, if you’re really that worried, I can give it to you.”

Summary
“Jo-kun,” calls Taki before he registers what he said, and Jo actually turns to him. Taki tries to smile, but his facial muscles feel strained. He thinks he ends up with an awkward imitation of it. “This shot is for you.”
(In true engineering student fashion, Taki even calculates what angle he needs to throw the ball in to land the shot. He’s pretty sure his answer is incorrect.)
He dribbles once, twice. Then, his knees bend a little, and he jumps as he throws the ball towards the hoop, fists clenching with hope.
The ball bounces off of the ring’s edge. Taki turns the deepest red he can as Jo’s lips press together in the most adorable way, fighting the laughter from coming out. Taki appreciates the attempt to salvage his dignity.

It’s like he’s a different person.”
K is on his side, nodding sagely, but Nicholas lets out a snort. “Where have you been?”
“What do you mean?”
“You’re acting like he sprouted up overnight. He’s been grown for a while, Yuma.”
“I—” Yuma’s face warms slightly. “Obviously, I know that. It’s just . . . weird.”
“I never thought K-hyung would accept Taki’s adulthood quicker than Yuma,” Fuma says, eyebrows lifted. “What a plot twist.”
