Summary
Zuko's council is holding a ball for him to pick a potential suitor. It's the only option he has before they just assign him away for some stuffy noble to marry, and he'd like to at least pretend to have some independence. The fact that he's been in love with his best friend for two years does nothing to help him feel better about the situation.
He's pretty sure he's screwed.
In a last ditch effort to get something good out of the situation, he enlists his friends to try and help him make the situation better or at least meet a decent guy. They do so much than that.

His uncle only shakes his head and tells him that the universe is all about balance, and that balance extends to who each one of them spends their life with.
Zuko throws his hands above his head in frustration. “Uncle, you were the one who told me that soulmates don’t exist,” he shouts.
Iroh smiles enigmatically. “No, nephew. I told you that there is nobody out there who makes up your other half.”
“That’s the same thing!”
His uncle’s dry chuckle follows him as he storms back to his chamber.
