Summary
Ryland Grace expected a lot of things to change when he decided to go back to Blip-A and save Rocky, but he had no idea things would get this complicated. Namely, this emotionally involved.

In this universe, Rocky offers to help create a food Ryland can eat during their journey on the Hail Mary together by hybridizing Ryland's DNA with food from his planet. Traits that make it possible for him and Rocky (and eventually, Adrian) to get closer than any of them ever thought they would be while the three of them start a life together on Erid.

Jonathan's head shoots up to stare at their girlfriend. His eyes have gone wide, cheeks pink. Steve's brow furrows. "PMS? What's that?"
Nancy chuckles at him and wraps her arms tighter around him. "I forget you know so little about reproductive biology."
"Hey!"
"She's not wrong, baby," Jonathan says, still looking unsure but with teasing glint all the same. His knee bounces up and down like Steve's does whenever he's bored in class. Which is always.
"It's cute," Nancy states. "And not your fault. Anyway, PMS stands for premenstrual syndrome. It's a–"
"Menstrual!" Steve interjects, mouth agape. "I'm an omega, not a girl, Nance!"

The color drains completely from Robin's cheeks. “Holy,” she breathes, and her eyes find his. “Y-you’re telling the truth? You’re really a genie?”
“A Jinn,” Steve corrects, but his hands are shaking.
She flips through the contract, her brow furrowing the more she reads. She works her way slowly through the restrictions and stops on the third page. Her eyes go back to the top, disbelief growing with each word.
“Fuck,” Robin gasps, and her wide eyes find his. “A child? They chose for you to be a human child?”
He nods, throat in knots.
“So,” she fumbles. “You’ve been serving the Harringtons for eighteen years?”
“Pretty much.”
“Jesus.”

Or, eighteen years ago, the Harringtons walked out of Yellowstone Park with a newborn and the promise of ten wishes all bundled in one. Sixteen years later, Steve picks up a bat, restrictions be damned.
