Summary
The fact that they’re sitting as close to each other on the park bench like an old married couple makes it doubly as weird that they’re as comfortable as they are. Never mind the fact that they're also holding hands.

Summary
The room in front of him dances. The edges of his vision start to disappear, black spots covering up his peripheral. Ben feels tired. He’s lived so long, he’s done just about every drug, tried every type of person on God’s green earth. And from the looks of it, the idiot currently choking him is going to turn the world into even more of a shitshow than it already is. So, instead of struggling, he lets it happen. He doesn’t know if he could beat the kid if he wanted to, but if this is how he dies so be it. As long as it is not the box, he would take true oblivion any day over living forever...
But then his senses clear, he twitches his fingers and forces his heavy eyelids to open. Instead of meeting his maker, or seeing the flickering depths of hell, he blearily recognises a room he hasn’t seen in nearly 50 years.

Summary
Forewarned of the finale, Homelander prepares for the final showdown. And when the day comes, he answers with scorched earth, shock and awe, blood and bone, until the world lies broken and he stands alone as victor. Yet in the silence after the screams stop, he finds his ultimate defeat: an empty crown, a hollow throne, a lonely god.

Bookmarker's Notes
I’ve only read chapter 1 so far but I love how this addresses a lot of the problems with the finale
