Summary
“I’ll do anything,” Orpheus says. His knees are beginning to buckle under him. “I’ll work in the mines. I’ll work on the wall.”
“Son, you wouldn’t last a day down there,” the god drawls.
“Then I’ll sing,” he croaks. “I’ll sing for your workers to keep them in line. I’ll sing for your wife, to keep her underground. Please…” He glances back at the house—really more of a shack—where Eurydice lies by the dwindling fire. “I can’t let her starve.”
Silence. Then, a quirk of the lips—not really a smile, but the gesture of one. “I suppose I could use a canary.”

incredibly natural-sounding rhyming dialogue, great references to both Hadestown and Greek mythology, and, most impressively, I REALLY THOUGHT THEY WERE GONNA DO IT THIS TIME

Summary
“It’s some old folk tale people out here in the boonies tell their kids so they stay out of trouble,” Toji says disinterestedly. “They say there’s a spirit up on the mountain. And he likes to prey on every passerby.”
Megumi grows up in a small, rural town and meets a peculiar spirit named Sukuna, who decides to never leave him alone - for better or for worse. As he gets older, he finds himself in a strange existence that hangs between the bright world of the living, occupied by his friends Yuji and Nobara, and the dark, ominous world of the malevolent Sukuna.
(Or: a loosely Sukufushi Nosferatu AU but in 2000s-2010s Japan.)

Bookmarker's Notes
beautiful in a very bleak way
When Toji quietly asks for a spoonful of soup, and Megumi gently lifts it up to his lips, a peculiar sense of pride sparks in Megumi’s chest. Perhaps Toji couldn’t be a good father, but Megumi could be a good son – at least for their last few moments together. Megumi wants to leave Toji like this, with the memory of his son taking care of him in a way that his own father likely never did.

Summary
It sounds like the start of an impressively bad joke, if you ask Megumi:
An asexual and a (possible) aromatic walk into a college dorm. Confusion ensues.

amazing character study/characterization ref
“The biggest generalized truth that Yuuji recognizes about himself is that he is a person best experienced in small doses.”

Summary
“These are all king-sized beds, Itadori.”
Pink spreads all the way to the tip of Yuuji’s ears when he suddenly freezes. “So what if they are?” Yuuji croaks out with a scoff, hands going to steal his phone back but Nobara is quick, hides it behind her back.
“So, not only are you wanting to share a room with Fushiguro, but you’re gonna share a bed too?”
Yuuji decides that he and Megumi are going to move in together. Megumi is not consulted.

Bookmarker's Notes
cute, funny, introspective
Maki rolls her eyes, but secretly she’s relieved. She promises herself that she won’t be bossy and opinionated when the day comes, and that she’ll let them make a decision on what to bring home by themselves. She’ll be there, but she won’t butt in. She won’t be tied to this plant in any capacity. Then, she chides herself immediately for even wasting that much brainspace on Toge and Yuuta’s future houseplant. It’s not that big of a deal.
