Zhongli’s rationality is swallowed by that soft ocean scent, his lungs clogged by the shimmering heat that drenches the air.
“Is that what you are?” he murmurs. “A challenge?”
“I think you’ll find, Mr. Zhongli, that I am the greatest challenge you will ever face.” Childe’s lips are a sin, hovering over his, apple-sweet temptation. “Will you back down now?”
And Zhongli, cursing himself, does not back down.
Childe is a dangerous crime boss threatening the peace of Liyue. Zhongli is the retired intelligence agent sent to infiltrate his organization and bring him to justice.
But beneath Childe’s many masks, Zhongli finds a lost soul who yearns for redemption, and beyond Zhongli’s steadfast duty, Childe finds a tired soldier who yearns for a home.

Summary
Anyway, romance was not needed for happiness in life.
But Kaveh so desperately wants it.
It’s a wish that most probably had; experiencing a love that’s all-consuming in the best way possible, being on the receiving end of heartwarming love declarations or confessions, a relationship that grows and flourishes for all time.
He never referred to himself as a hopeless romantic but it seems that it’s becoming a reasonable label to put on him.

It’s been two months since the storm, and Childe hasn’t seen Zhongli not even once, not since that fateful meeting with the Signora where the truth is finally unveiled.
And what a fun little kick to the gut that is, the realization that not only had he been played by all sides, but he's also being tossed aside like trash now that his use had run its course.
It’s not that Childe doesn’t get it. He’s a Harbinger. He knows first-hand what it means to do his duty, to put the mission first and his personal feelings far, far away, preferably locked up in a box, where it wouldn’t interfere with his job. He knows what it’s like working with vipers, to scheme and plot and lie in wait for the opportune moment to stab his opponent in the back.
But this time, this time Childe can’t help but feel a little (a lot) gutted.
Stupid. He’s gotten himself stupidly attached.
