family from an outsider looking in

Summary:

In one world, the timeline follows it’s intended path, playing out the script, not so much as sparing a glance towards the other branches.

In this world, an unsuspecting subject finds themselves to be the catalyst for a new change. For better or for worse.

Ranboo just tries not to fuck everything up in his new role. Easier said than done, in his humble opinion.

Chapter Text

He stood in the center of a ravine, sharp stairs to his right, chests and furnaces lying in front of him, torches and lanterns lining the walls.

He looked around, not questioning how he got here. It felt.. strange . It was dark. Which is strange in and of itself since it was decently lit with all the lanterns, but it was still different. It was, for lack of better words, dreary.

He heard what sounded like voices from behind him, voices that were approaching him rapidly, steps echoing in the ravine with a purpose.

He couldn’t quite make what they were saying. He tried to focus on what they were saying but it was hard. They weren’t clear. They were foggy, in a way.

He turned around to get a better look at the people.

The first thing he saw were the colors. The only thing he could see was the colours.

The first one was yellow and orange, a swirling mixture of both muddy colors. Around the edges of the blob, red- muddy red- was bleeding through to the center. Despite the muddy color, the feeling he got from them was sharp, bitter.

The second one was a bright red- bright, so bright- with specks of muddy pink and red orange floating around.

Yellow shouted something he couldn’t make out. The outer edges of Red’s colors darkened, muddying.

They didn’t seem to notice him at all.

He was right there.

He held out his hands with some effort.

He reached out. He was so close, he was less than a foot away he was so so close and then-

He wasn't.

Ranboo woke with a jolt.

Notes:

muddy orange: laziness or lack of ambition. emotionally clogged or unable to move forward.

muddy yellow: fatigue, trying to do too much all at once.

muddy red: anger.

bright red: passionate, competitive, sensual, and energetic

muddy pink: indicates deceit and emotional immaturity—which is frequently the cause of deceit.

red orange: confidence.
