Work Text:

Where am I?

I feel as if  I've been trapped here forever. But I don't know where here is. I see a screen ahead of me, close enough for me to see what was being done, but too far for me to stop it. Everything around me is red. I feel something wrapped around my limbs holding me in place. When I try to speak the same strange restraints make its way down my throat making me unable to say anything.

This has become part of my life. I hate it, but I've given up. I can't do anything, I can't fight it. I've tried, and I've failed. Over and over again.

I see my best friend on the screen, hurting to see "me" care so little about him. It hurts me too. Every time he's shown I try ripping out of my sick chains which only dig further into my skin. I try to scream at him, tell him I'm still here, but the vines clog themselves back into my mouth to gag down my words. I sob and scream and thrash around but no matter what it is all the same.

He is now part of this prison. I can tell he is not a part of the same place in the mindscape as I am. He is just corrupt. He is doing things from manipulation. He is not being puppeted, he is being controlled the same way the others have. He wants something. Wants something it says it will give him, but all it does is lie. It takes what it needs with no mercy then gives nothing in return. And only I know. Only I can hear its true intentions.

I plead to it to let me go, plead to it to leave my friends alone, but it only laughs and hisses at me. I can only sit helplessly night and day.

He wants to kill someone, someone I was never fond of. But it is not because of any other reason except that he is not affected by the puppeteer's laws. They are not doing it for anyone, but the monster.

It pains me. It hurts so much to see my friends giving in to what has been hurting me the most. I want to smack them, yell at them, tell them to stop this fucking nonsense.

I watch from afar as my best friend follows orders as if he is the leader. He's not. He has no power. He is a pawn just like the rest of them. They are pawns and I am the King. The King is controlled by a being of power no one can take. They are the pawns and I am the manipulated King. I cry and I scream to be free but nothing. Nothing. It's all nothing.

I can't help. I can't be helped. I'm trapped in this forever void of red and resistance where I can only watch helplessly.

I pray to a god I never even believed in to free me, free my loved ones, defeat this evil. I pray to a god I never thought twice about for a way of salvation. I pray and I pray and I pray and I pray. I scream and I call out to the ones I cannot reach.

I sob and I gag on the vines that hold me down. Blood and spit trickles out of my throat and digs deeper than before in my skin as I try reaching out to him. Him.

Him. The one my own life is tied to. The one I spend every day of my life with. The one who turned to the red so I wouldn't suffer alone. But now he cannot save me. No one can save me. Save us. Save him.

Watching and listening as everyone around me turns to this demon no one knows the origin of. I want to be free. I want to be back home.

I've lost almost all my hope.

Until The Red Banquet.

I watched as they executed a person in front of everyone. This was the second time I tried and failed to reach out. I screamed at my friends to stop this nonsense but no one could hear me. I was hiding. I couldn't be heard or seen.

It was a surprise to everyone. Especially when Quackity showed up with two of the best fighters on this God-forsaken server.

I feel myself smile for the first time in who knows how long. My friends ran from the others, leaving the egg behind. I didn't follow though I wanted to.

Before they blocked off their escape, I finally got a word out of my possessed mouth. I screamed his name. I yelled to him. I yelled in my voice, yelled before the disgusting-ass plants clogged my airway once more.

I finally reached out to him on my own terms. In my own control.

"BAD!"
