Not All Sith Deal in Absolutes

Summary:

**THIS STORY TAKES PLACE BETWEEN AOTC AND ROTS**

Hands wrapped around your throat.

An unfamiliar feeling began to rise up your pharynx; one of warmth, which quickly spread throughout the rest of your weak and invulnerable body.

“How does it feel? Do you like it when I touch you like this? Overpower your weak being, even though you are of great importance to the galaxy?”

Your response only came out in incoherent moans.

Those piercing, cerulean eyes did nothing but stare straight into your soul; a soul tainted by the dark side of the force… A soul no longer of innocence… Of ignorance… Of light.

Darkness suddenly crept up into your eyes, slowly--painfully, forcing them shut.

The last bit of humanity you felt, were the vibrations of wicked laughs on your throat--that strong hand you overtime fell to find comfort in, now had you delivered in a sweet package, right at death’s door.

Notes:

My friend and I were chilling in our dorm one night as we were having a very... civilized... conversation about Obi-Wan, when she suddenly brought up the brilliant idea of writing a fic about him!

...Blast it.

Here I am, writing a full-on, Obi-Wan Kenobi fic.

Chapter One - Blue Curacao

“Father, just what do you have planned? Our planet is unknown to the rest of the galaxy--to politicians--stars, even the Jedi don’t know of Draskun.”

Draskun. One of the few planets in the galaxy in which its very existence is nowhere to be found in the archives. Whether a Jedi himself erased its existence from the knowledge of the Jedi Temple, or perhaps no being was brave enough to venture out to this corner of the galaxy, is uncertain… Regardless of the reason, if you were to ask any off-worlder of the planet’s existence, they would simply ease a brow in confusion. True to its unsettling name, the planet itself is submerged in the dark side of the force. The sky is constantly painted a dark shade of purple, accompanied by clouds as dark as the heart of a Sith Lord. The climate is neither hot nor cold--it is exactly in the middle, which is ironic, considering the dark side of the force is all but on one end of the spectrum. Accompanied by dark, rocky ground, the planet seems uninhabitable at first glance--eerily dark mountains accompanied by eerily black clouds is what every off-worlder is met with… But if you dig deep enough, you could come to find the depths of comfort in which the inhabitants of the planet reside… The mountains itself is where these dark lords of the Sith indulge in their slumber.

Your father brought the back of his hand to gently brush the side of your cheek, accompanied by wise, golden eyes-- Sith eyes--gazing into yours. “My sweet, sweet child… is it truly wrong to desire a connection with the rest of the galaxy? We have been hiding in the dark for centuries now, and all I wish for you, is a life filled with certainty--with promise.

You brought your hand over your father’s own, just barely leaning your face into his touch. For a man who portrayed such kindness towards his own daughter, his hand felt excruciatingly cold.

“Father, what promise? I was never made aware of anything of the sorts,” you began to panic in realization that perhaps you had zoned out during the last council meeting. “Was this promise spoken of at our last meeting? I-I don’t recall Master Randallo speaking of such things--”

The familiarly presiding and glacial voice of your father interrupted your scurrying thoughts. “ Child . Have you lost sight of your very importance to me?”

The words coming from your father were not making sense to you.

“Father, I’m not so sure I understand what you mean.” You made sure to straighten your posture as you forced your own Sith eyes to look into his. Your brows were lowered ever so slightly.

With a light chuckle, your father continued. “You are my daughter. Is it so erroneous of me to want to show affection towards my child? I want your life to be meaningful,” your father began to pace around you in slow, predatory circles. “To be fulfilling. For us Sith, such a life is highly spoken of, but is it easily achieved?”

You felt yourself gulp as your father leaned into your face slightly, silently desiring a response from you; years of experience had taught you this.

“N-No, Father. It is not.”

A low hum escaped your father’s throat in acknowledgement before he continued. “As your father, my duty is to aid you on your journey through life as we know it. I only wish you the best, my child. A young Sith as yourself, still with much to learn, is still prone to blunders and vulnerability. I want to promise you a life in which you will not fall victim to such things.”

Your father suddenly stopped his intimidating circles, his back turned to you as he folded his hands behind his back. The long, black robes that hung from his tall and lean body, only added to his intimidating presence… He truly was a Sith Lord.

“You will go to Coruscant and face the politicians. There, you will represent Draskun. Not as a Sith… but as a simple wielder of the Force.”

---

The cool breeze that blew through Coruscant in the early hours of the night reminded you of home. Draskun… you were forbidden from speaking of your planet until the debate. If the Jedi were to discover its existence through different means, all of your father’s work would have been for nothing.

Tsk. Jedi scum. ” a raspy voice scoffed behind your back.

You spun around, narrowing your eyes ahead of you as you felt your teeth clench a tad. You were raised to despise the Jedi. All your life, the Sith had only voiced negative words regarding the Jedi. A young Sith by the name of Darth Maul--a man you had only heard stories of, but looked up to, nonetheless--was murdered by Jedi. You were raised to hate their very existence. Just the word “Jedi” managed to evoke anger within you… which seemed to be happening at this very moment.

Your eyes scanned the crowded stretch of street you were currently in the middle of. With nothing to do until the debate, you had decided to check out what the nightlife on Coruscant was like; you had only ever read about such excitement in books.

Like a ghost passing through a crowd, the end of a light-brown robe slipped past you and into the crowd that resided behind you. You could feel your teeth clench down further, and your heart begin to pick up speed.

Like a predator running after its prey, you spun on your heel, diving right back into the crowd you had just managed to escape.

Jedi.

In all honesty, you weren’t exactly sure what it was you planned on doing. Maybe it was the fact that you had never seen a Jedi in-person, or maybe you were simply chasing after the slightest bit of excitement. Regardless, you were now running after a man you didn’t even know; all you did know was that he was a Jedi, and that was as good a reason as any to follow him.

---

To say your outfit did not fit into the social scene of the bar would be an understatement.

Regardless of the species, it seemed the appropriate wear here were dresses and tuxedos; a bar on the more elegant side of things. You , on the other hand, were wearing a long, black robe, similar to that of the Jedi you were currently scouting out. Your tunic, pants, even your boots were dark. Every piece of clothing on you was black… just like Draskun No, now was not the time to think of home.

Instead of continuing to worry about the way you fit in, you slipped into the crowd just as fast as you had left it running into this bar.

Jedi.

Your eyes darted across the large room; drunkens, drunkens… no Jedi. Blast! Where could he have gone?

A few more frantic scans of the room were met with no such luck. Instead of dwelling on your failure to locate the Jedi, you decided to partake in what the rest of the club seemed to be doing; drinking.

Lucky for you, there was a single seat open at the bar. You slowly but surely made your way over, before placing yourself in the bar stool. You dropped your head as you took a breather; you had been sprinting this whole way, and barely had any time to catch your breath when you entered the bar.

“And what can I get for the lovely lady?” a voice spoke sweetly in front of you.

Your head was raised not a second later. The man standing in front of you was tall, well-built, and had somewhat of an intimidating aura to him… But his wide grin betrayed his fearsome features.

“Oh! Yes, I’ll have…” you panicked as there was no menu to be found. Instead, you quickly looked to your right and down at the blue-coloured drink placed before the man beside you. “I’ll take whatever he’s having!”

“Coming right up, sweets.” the bartender replied, before turning his back to you to begin preparing your beverage. You weren’t exactly fond of the name “sweets,” but you knew better than to cause a scene on a planet you were but a stranger on.

You dropped your head once more, taking in a few short and staggered breaths. Talking to strangers sure was scary, to say the least.

“I never thought a pretty thing such as yourself would ask for a drink such as this. ”

The accent that followed was like music to your ears, which is something you would never admit to anyone. On most days, perhaps not even yourself. It was calm, sweet, and brought an odd sense of comfort to your conflicted mind.

You lifted your hanging head once more, only this time, it felt heavier.

“And I never thought I would be responding to such arrogance…” you rested your elbow on the bar table in front of you, placing your chin in the palm of your hand as you looked into the man’s eyes. “Such as yourself.”

Cerulean.

A beautifully enticing blue. His eyes alone were gorgeous, not to mention the rest of him. Handsomely parted auburn hair, along with a scruffy, yet very well-kept beard, complimented his face nicely. His eyebrows were lowered slightly, causing the sides of his eyes to crinkle a tad; it caused for a blazingly handsome look. His outfit was unsettlingly similar to yours; brown robe, pearl-white tunic, accompanied by light brown pants… and not to mention those snazzy red boots. His grin was subtle, but clearly there as he took in your quick and witty remark.

“My, your way of thinking is charming, young one.” The man spoke as he brought a hand to his beard, tugging at a few reddish-blonde hairs. A light chuckle followed after.

Young one? Sure, you were younger than him, but this man did not have to point it out so hastily. For someone as charming as himself, his mouth sure seemed to jeopardize any and all forms of attraction.

“I’d say thank you, but I’m not so sure you deserve such praise.” you spoke softly, turning back to face the bartender who was still preparing your drink; you were not going to play the nice girl to someone as arrogant as this man… Your father would certainly be hearing of this.

The grin on the man’s face grew a tad bit wider, before he brought the shot glass to his mouth once more, swigging down the rest of the mysterious liquid. Either he was extremely good at holding his liquor, or the drink itself was very light… You were hoping for the latter.

“Here you go, little lady! A shot of Blue Curacao!” the bartender exclaimed, placing down the neon-blue drink before you.

You scoffed under your breath at the pet name he gave you once again, but accepted the drink, nonetheless.

The shot glass was as cold as the icy winds on Hoth. You dare say it almost felt good against your fingers. The bright-blue liquid seemed to stare straight back at you as you glanced down at it. In all honesty, the drink didn’t actually look that bad. What you didn’t want to admit, was that you had never had even the smallest sip of alcohol in your short time existing in the galaxy.

Dropping your shoulders with a sigh, you took the cold glass into your hand, and gulped the entire thing down in one go.

You could feel the man’s prying eyes on you as you swallowed the last bit of the liquid. Weirdo. It didn’t take long to bring a distastefully burning sensation into your throat.

“I must say, that is quite impressive. I may not be worthy of your praise, but you sure are worthy of mine!” the man beside you exclaimed, which somehow made you squirm in annoyance.

As much as your father encouraged you to act on your raw emotions as opposed to pushing them down, you felt as though this bar was not the best place to lose control.

Painfully holding the strong alcohol down, you quickly hopped off of your bar stool, turning to face the chuckling man. “If you’ll excuse me.” you stammered, before hurrying off into the crowd.

Bathroom… just get to a bathroom.

You had to use your forearms to push past a few drunkens, before you finally made your way to the other side of the large and lively room. The sign for the bathrooms was just ahead, and you couldn’t stop your feet from picking up in pace.

---

The large, wooden door to the female bathroom flew open as you ran into the empty room. The walls looked as though they were made from black marble, as well as the floor. Almost everything in the bathroom was black, minus the sinks and toilets. Everything looked so… proper. You did like order, so it would have been a lie if you were to say that it wasn’t to your liking.

You threw your hands down on either side of one of the sinks, staring at yourself in the large mirror; your eyes were a plain brown. Just a plain, dull, one-coloured brown. You never thought you’d miss looking into a mirror and seeing your piercing, golden, Sith eyes. Without them, you almost looked… out-of-place, in your dark attire… Like you weren’t supposed to be on this mission… Like you weren’t even a Sith.

Slowly raising a hand, you brought your index finger to your right eye, gently pushing down as your finger glided over the smooth surface. Toying with your contact lense felt odd, but you had to make sure that everything was in working order...

At least you could take them out once away from the public eye.

Not even a second later, you began gagging, and you quickly threw your head over the sink, expecting something to find its way out.

Oddly enough, after a few more violent coughs, not a drop of liquid came out.

You took this time alone to reflect back on the events that had just occurred prior; the man at the bar. He was… certainly intriguing, to say the least. Although his mouth seemed to do him more bad than good, he really was quite charming. As much as you hated to admit it, you truly did find it hard not to look down at his lips every so often.

Stars, what was coming over you?!

You were sent here to Coruscant to fulfill a mission; a very important mission, which was entrusted to you by your father--one of the most powerful Sith in the entire universe. You had zero time for matters as trivial as this.

Just what did you have planned, Father…?

With a heavy sigh, you pushed your body--which seemed to feel heavier by the minute--off of the sink. With all hope lost of locating the Jedi from earlier, you decided to make your way back to the bar.

---

The still air began to feel warm as you pushed through the drunkens--only this time, your body seemed to slightly sway along with them.

The jazz in the distance only added to the ambience of the bar; relaxed, warm, and intimate.

Where in the blazes was your seat again?!

You shook your head in disbelief that you had managed to already lose your seat’s location, when you suddenly lost your footing, sending you straight into somebody’s chest.

“Blast, I’m terribly sorry! If you’ll excuse me.” you began, but to no avail, a rather large hand grabbed onto your forearm, pulling you into the broad chest which you had just stumbled into. Your breathing sounded a lot more rapid and sloppy, now that your face was practically pressed against something, and you could all but hear every little noise you made--you could even say you were panting !

For someone as self-assured as yourself, you sure seem to have trouble holding your alcohol, my sweet. ” a familiar voice whispered near your ear--not close enough to be intimate, but rather so you could hear them over all the noise.

You threw your head back to look up at the man whose voice you could recognize a parsec away. “It’s you…” you choked, pressing the palms of your hands to his chest, attempting to push yourself off of the man’s chest.

“The one and only.” the man replied in a teasing tone, grinning down at your awkward frame pressed against his chest.

“You could at least tell me your name...” you spoke with a hint of annoyance, continuing the useless struggle. Blast, there was no way you were going to use your Sith powers here.

“Mmm. Do you think you’ll be able to remember my name, come morning?” the man teased further, using his free hand to pull at some hairs at the end of his beard.

Why, you cocky little--

“Yes! Why wouldn’t I be able?!” you yelled up and into his face, narrowing your eyes on his own-- challenging him.

You felt the man’s chest rise and fall at a somewhat faster pace a few times, before the vibrations of his voice rose from his chest to his throat. “Well, if you’re so adamant on learning my name, then I really see no harm in giving it!”

“Glad we could finally settle that.” you spoke with sarcasm under your breath, before the man suddenly let go of your forearm, pushing you a few inches away from his chest. His grin widened ever-so-slightly as he fixed his gaze on you, and you alone. “I am Obi-Wan Kenobi. And you are?”

Your eyes widened slightly as you realized your father never assigned you an alias, which meant you would have to come up with one right now --but now that your eyes were widened, would Obi-Wan somehow catch a glimpse of your true eyes? Then he would know that you’re a Sith, and then try and alert the Jedi, and--

A gentle hand pressed softly against your forehead, as though a mother were checking her child for a fever. “Oh, dear. You’re quite hot, young one.” Obi-Wan frowned as the back of his hand slid across your forehead--his hand felt cool against your skin, and you subconsciously moved into his touch ever-so-slightly.

“Shall I get you some water… no-named young one?” the auburn-haired man spoke, his cocky grin suddenly widening. You were already getting sick of that condescending, egotistical, conceited grin.

“(y/n). My name. It’s (y/n).” you blurted out, suddenly feeling extremely dizzy. Stars, his hand felt so good against your forehead. So cool… probably the coldest thing in the room right now.

“Oh, so now it’s… (y/n) no-last-name ?” Obi-Wan teased, tugging at some hairs on his beard, yet again.

“Blast, must you always call me out on something?! It’s (y/n) (l/n)! I swear, sometimes you light-siders are so diffic--”

You bit your bottom lip in an attempt to shut yourself up, but you could tell that the effects of the strong alcohol were already getting to you.

“I said, get off of me!” a panicked voice suddenly screamed out from across the room.

You spun around, scanning the area for any tell-tale signs of endangerment. Before you could even speak, Obi-Wan ran past you--something sliding up and into his hand within half a second. As though acting on instinct, you ran into the crowd, following the man whom you had just met.

Without carelessly yelling his name out, you made sure to keep as close behind the man as possible. That is, until he suddenly came to an abrupt halt, skilfully swinging something around in his hand as it flashed an intimidatingly bright blue…

Jedi. ” you said under your breath.
