Work Text:
“I don’t have time for this.” Those were the first words you heard Tom utter as you came into the hospital room he was sharing with three other people.
“It’s nice to see you too, darling,” you huffed amusedly and sat down beside him on the hospital bed. Tom pulled you closer towards him and brought you into a kiss.
“Of course I’m happy to see you, love,” he assured you and kept his arms around you, holding you close. “I just don’t have time for a broken ankle right now. I have so much work to do,” he explained. He seemed stressed.
“I know darling,” you sighed and gently caressed his cheek. “I’m sure it will work out somehow. It’s not like they can replace Loki with another actor for season two. You are Loki. I’m sure they’ll find a way to work around your injury.”
“I feel like such a klutz,” Tom confided in a lower voice so no one else would hear him but you.
“You were unlucky,” you told him. “It could happen to anyone.”
“But it happened to me,” Tom said with a pout. Your heart melted at how adorable he looked as he was moping around.
“I’m truly sorry that it happened to you, darling. If I could switch places with you, I would,” you told him sympathetically.
“I wouldn’t want you to,” Tom objected and sighed heavily.
“I know,” you said with a gentle smile. “But I promise, it’s going to be alright. They’ll make it work somehow. You’re the main character. You can still practice for your part, even if you won’t be able to walk without crutches for some time. They’ll simply leave out the running and action scenes until your ankle has healed. It can’t be that hard. They’re professionals after all,” you reasoned. Tom managed to smile at you.
“You might be right,” he agreed, but still seemed a bit frustrated by the situation. “I was just out for a run and then one false step and bang, it just broke. I feel like such an idiot.”
“But you’re not an idiot. You’re the smartest man I know,” you told him and he smiled at you. “You were just unlucky, that’s all.”
“Thank you darling,” Tom said and kissed you again.
Tom didn’t have to stay for long at the hospital and after a couple of hours, you were back home again. You cooked the dinner as he contacted his working colleagues to fill them in on what had happened. To judge by the look on Tom’s face after finishing his calls, it had gone better than he had anticipated.
“You were right. They’ll find a way to work around it,” Tom informed you with a smile as he stood in the door opening to the kitchen with his phone in his hand. He looked so relieved.
“Of course I was right,” you told him confidently and walked up to kiss him. After the kiss you looked up at him with a mischievous grin.
“What?” Tom asked with a smile as he looked at you thoughtfully.
“I…” you hesitated and blushed.
“You…” Tom said in an attempt to make you finish your sentence.
“I can’t wait to see you as Loki again,” you revealed and Tom smiled knowingly at you. He knew about your weakness for Loki.
“Is that so?” he asked playfully and placed his hands on your shoulders. He lowered his voice and leaned in to whisper seductively in your ear. “Kneel.”
Your cheeks instantly grew warm and you looked up at Tom in surprise. He seemed pleased with himself as he smirked at you. He was Loki.
