Chapter 1: Start of a story

Chapter Text

You didn't belong here, at least not at first.
But perhaps you should clarify.
You were a prodigy, you excelled in astrophysics and theoretical science. You wrote your first scientific theory peice at age fifteen.
"Theory of Color" you called it. Attributing colors to peopled defining traits, their unwavering aspects. Traits that seem to persist even after traumatic events or amnesia. An integral part of their life force, their soul if you will. Each color represented an aspect of that person's soul, but you only ever used the seven core traits.

Green: Kindness
Orange: Bravery
Cyan: Patience
Indigo: Integrity
Purple: Perserverence
Yellow: Justice
Red: Determination

You graduated with honors and veledictorian of your class from faux university at age twenty-four, your creative writing and theory souces earned you a spot at Ttobe scientific research center. It was like a dream come true, until that dream was crushed by the very people who handed it to you.

You ended up as a glorified secretary.

You wouldn't have minded taking notes for them, if they didn't completely disreguard all your input. They laughed at you as though you couldn't understand, as though your position as a secretary was even above your level of intelligence. Despite your IQ being a bit higher than some of them they simply continued their "void project".

You were understandibly very wary of the machine they were building and told them it was not likely able to withstand what was essentially pure nothingness.

They turned on the machine, warning sirens blared in your ears, everyone was running.
You fell down and you got caught inside the room with the machine, as your body seemed to defy gravity, you noticed they left you behind.

Wait . . . no . . . you didn't fall.

You were tripped.

You could see from the corner of your eye where they were, safe behind the reinforced glass window outside the room. They were watching you, you wanted to cry, they had done this on purpose.
Yet as soon as you looked up you couldn't muster a single tear, because right there in front of you . . . . . was your soul.

You had never seen anything so gorgeous, the small heart shaped vessel that was filled with color.
Colors of green, cyan, orange, indigo, yellow, and purple all circling around a bright beacon of red. Your theories being proven true, you reached for your soul, you wanted to touch it, then you felt it.

Searing pain unlike any you've ever felt, like every cell was being torn apart, like all the blood in your body was set on fire, as if every hair on your head was made of razorblades.

You saw a flash of white and felt another round of pain, the blank bright white seemed to fight with the inky blackness for your soul.

You felt a pull. . . .

your soul . . . .

i t s t r e t c h e d.

The others continued to watch you write in agony, no evidence of regret or remorse on their faces. this is definatley not the first time they've done something like this. you felt anger for the poor souls who may have been sacrificed to the whims of these so called scientists.

You are filled with J U S T I C E

You felt another pull acompanied by more pain and let out a silent scream.
Despite all that they've done you would never wish this pain upon anyone else.

You are filled with K I N D N E S S

You couldn't even begin to imagine anyone else in your place, it made you sick, it went against everything you stood for.

You are filled with I N T E R G R I T Y

You felt even more pain, another pull, and a stretch. It has to stop eventually, you just have to hold on.

You are filled with P E R S E R V E R E N C E

You tried to take deep breaths, you lungs felt like they were filled with needles, your nerves like gunshots.
You can face this till the end, you know you can!

You are filled with B R A V E R Y

You saw your soul stretch again, yet there was so pain, your body had gone numb.
Any moment now, it'll be over, you just have to wait.

You are filled with P A T I E N C E

Your poor soul didn't look like it could take much more.

Another stretch . . . .

it was tearing. . . . .

your soul was breaking apart.
