Work Text:
Wolfwood first impression on this different identity of Vash was not the best, if he’s being honest.
He had seen Vash’s way to act, way to fight, move, everything. This “disguise” of his was doing a poor job on covering it.
But people believed, and his description was far from what you’d expect from the typhoon everyone was after. So, he accepted it.
The first day was the weirdest, Vash seemed older but also not, the stubbles on his face aged him more than anything else. The long hair not too bad but weird, nonetheless. It did surprise the fake Vash more than it surprised Wolfwood, as he saw the true Vash, now Eriks, move in the absurd speed that was common for him.
After all the ordeal with the fake Vash, the goodbyes to his adopted? Family and their first steps out the city, Wolfwood had to ask.
“Why are you dressing like this?”
Vash puffed a little laugh, looking at him with that dumb wide smile he’d use thrice as much on this persona he created.
“They can’t be after me if they don’t know it’s me, right?”
The two traveled after that, for a few more days. Until they had to help some city they stopped by because of Vash’s soft heart and the people in there offered them a party in return of the favor, almost begging the two for staying and enjoying it. Wolfwood was against it but Vash – Eriks – said he wanted to, and he’s the important part for Wolfwood, so he stayed.
And he could not even have the free booze. Life was unfair but sometimes it did things like this out of spite. He knew if he loosened up with alcohol and woke up late Vash’d be gone to his own adventures again, and that’s not a possibility he’s willing to explore, so he stays sober for the night.
He watches as the hours pass and the bad-at-being-old old man partied, drank and flirted with basically every girl that’d approach him in that party. A sad day for staying sober indeed, even if he couldn’t deny it made him happy seeing Vash enjoying his time and having a chance to get someone for the night, God knows how that helps with stress. It stinged a bit that he wanted to be the one getting that, though. He would never ask for it, he had too many reasons not to. He kept telling himself that for some good hours until something happened, and the group of people Vash was entertaining managed to be entertained by itself, without the need for a spike head of their own.
Vash walked over to him, sitting on the chair besides his own, cup in hand.
“Hey, Wolfwood.”
“Hm?”
“You know I always found you pretty, right?”
Wolfwood chokes on the smoke of his cigarette for the first time in years.
“You’re drunk, stop saying nonsense.” He finally managed, trying to convince himself of the same.
“Have I never told you? I can only get drunk if I wish to.” the smile. The big, dumb smile this someone called Eriks had, creeping up to Vash’s face again. His feelings towards that smug face varied too much for his own liking.
“Seems very convenient to only say that now, doesn’t it, Tongari?”
He laughs at this.
“Come on, I can’t be that bad of a drunken to sound exactly the same when sober?”
He isn’t. Vash, when drunk, is very different from his usual self. Well, not as much as many but enough to be easy to notice when he’s drunk, and Wolfwood fears that he isn’t lying about being sober, which only made the comment earlier worse.
Fuck it, he decides.
“Where does that compliment come from, anyways? Just decided that?” He asks, taking the bait.
“I've thought like this for a while, actually.” He finally looks away from the party both him and Wolfwood were watching from afar, locking his eyes to Wolfwood’s face. Calm expression over it. “I mean, since you jumped on my face when we first met then got me by the chin, those things can change a man, you know?”
Wolfwood is both amused by this confession and embarrassed. That wasn’t the effect he had planned that action would have.
They stay in a heavy silence. At least Wolfwood does, he’s feeling wrong for his earlier feelings whenever a woman approached Vash, and Vash himself seems as calm as he could, he’d stopped sipping the drink from his cup since they started talking.
“I assume you’re not the type to try and do something this open, right?” Vash speaks again, breaking the minute long silence.
He’s still not sure on how to react to this, so he attempts again on hiding his feelings on blaming Vash’s state.
“There’s something wrong here, no way your brain is working like it should. Come on the days on the sand aren’t getting to you, are they?” He replies, grabbing Vash’s head and twisting it to check on his ears, scalp, nape.
“Wolfwood.”
“Quiet down, Tongari. I need to see if you got brain damage.”
Vash reacts.
He grabs one of Wolfwood’s hands and twists himself back to position, keeping the hand locked in position by its wrist.
“Wolfwood, I mean it. I'm fine, and I'm saying these completely conscious.”
Heat crept up to Wolfwood’s face with this. And the manhandling. He will try not to think about it too much.
“But why saying this now, though?” He asks, tone not too angry.
“You’ve been following me around for a long while, you saw things that makes me honestly surprised you came back after seeing it. Why would I keep myself from indulging this one thing I might not lose so soon?” Vash’s smiling, but the wide smile is now sincere, not just a mask. “That’s if you want it, of course.”
Wolfwood considers it.
“If you really mean it, I don’t see why not. You’re a pretty blondie, been wanting to have a taste.” He smirks at Vash, earning a strong blush on the other man’s face, mostly covered by the big glasses but visibly there.
And just because life hates him and he need no more proof of it, the barkeep emerges from somewhere and asks them, leaning against the counter:
“Will you two be needing rooms? The bar is also an inn, if you two want I can arrange rooms for the two of you. Only fair, right?”
Vash was the lead on this whole saving the city thing, so Wolfwood let him speak.
“That would be great! Only one room, though.” He replied to the barkeep.
There it is, Wolfwood thinks as he looks away from the two. He’s not helping, but it’s better than looking at the mom-looking lady from behind the counter stare at him in surprise.
This is worse than he expected, really. Out of all romantic confessions he’d never think the most embarrassing one would be the one that would have him trying to hide his face in shame from admitting something was going on there, even if it didn’t happen yet.
“Of course.” She replied. Wolfwood could only hear the keys jiggling and Vash getting them. “5th door on the first floor.”
Vash stood up, Wolfwood following.
They climbed the roll of stairs in silence, besides the quick “good night” Vash gave to the people who were still partying in their names. They stopped at the 5th door.
“You okay, Wolfwood?” Vash asked, fumbling with the keys to open it.
He shouldn’t be so tense. He'd done things like this before, with either paid workers or quick hook ups, but the idea of a previous interest that is more than a week or something is making his heart hammer to his chest in anticipation.
“Yea, just waiting for you to figure the damn door.” He tried to add a joke, for distracting Vash and himself.
The door clicks open after he says that. Vash looks at him, shit-eating grin on his face.
“Can I?” Vash walks in, Wolfwood fails to understand on what but nods.
And he’s pulled in.
Vash is kissing him, slow and soft. He needs to look down a bit because of their slight height difference he didn’t bother checking before this. He grabs Vash’s thin waist, holding himself in place as he kissed back eagerly.
He feels Vash closing the door and locking it behind him, not stopping the kisses. Wolfwood decided he needed more and moved his hand drown, grabbing a good piece of Vash’s ass and squeezing it, making him gasp and using this opening to add his tongue to the other’s mouth.
Vash accepted it with a groan. Both of their chins hitting as the blond tried to change his angle.
“Sorry...” He leaned back just slightly, to say it, then tried to dive in again, only stopping by Wolfwood speaking back.
“Couldn’t you at least have shaved properly for this, Tongari? It feels weird kissing an old man.”
Vash chuckled. “What, are you going to say you enjoyed the spikes, after all this time making fun of them?”
“Maybe.” Was the last thing Wolfwood said before diving in again but going for Vash’s neck instead of mouth, biting down until he heard Vash whine. Vash’s neck and a bit of his pecs were easier access in this Eriks identity of his, so Wolfwood used the opportunity. Not wasting this one.
He trailed down with kisses, licks and bites (gentler ones) while he unbuttoned Vash’s shirt, going even farther and listening to his little sounds. He expected Vash to be more vocal about this kind of stuff, if he’s being honest. The little huffs and groans, the rare moans? That’s not right, not for a man who is loud every minute of the day.
He stopped at the rim of Vash’s pants, the man in front of him now completely disheveled: his shirt open and falling, only clumsily stopped by his arms that are trembling a bit too much. His face, neck and shoulders on a burning red color, seeing Vash flustered like this making his brain try and toss the idea of thinking out to just give in to instincts.
He tugged once at the linen string holding Vash’s pants in place.
“Can I?”
“Please.” followed by a soft chuckle.
He does so. He hears Vash exhaling happily as he pulls both the pants and underwear out of his way.
Vash’s cock isn’t very different, which surprises him. He expected either a feather hell in there or something not human, but surprisingly enough it’s a normal cock. Around the same size as his own, probably not as thick.
He doesn’t think twice before watering his mouth up with saliva and shoving Vash’s dick into it.
This finally gets a decent moan from Vash, even if half of it was muffled by his hand. He can feel his flesh hand gripping hand onto his hair, trembling on not being sure to pull in or push away. He bobs his head slowly at first, then picks up rhythm enough for Vash to curl up onto him as he goes.
“Wolfwood... close.” He’s still biting back most of the moans, but the grunts and gasps are delicious on its own.
Wolfwood takes that as a command, doubling his efforts, going deeper and swallowing around it. Vash’s gasping becoming more and more mixed with moans until he finally tenses up and comes into his mouth with more than one pump.
When he relaxes again, he almost flops on top of Wolfwood, holding himself with a steady grip on the door.
Oh, right. They didn’t move from the door yet.
He lets go Vash’s now soft dick and wipes some of the spit away with his sleeves.
“Am I that good?” He asks.
“Yes, and I haven’t done anything in a while.” He tries to stand without leaning on the door or Wolfwood, fails and wobbles against both again. “A little help?”
“Guess the dress up isn’t just show, huh. You're really getting old.” Wolfwood, previously on his knees, moves himself up and gives Vash a lazy kiss.
“It’s not my fault! You acted all shy and small at the party then sucked me dry, that’s evil man.”
“Won’t do it again, then. Sorry.” He smirked as he moved to the bed with Vash and grabbed himself a cigar.
“Wh- No! Not like that!” Wolfwood laughed at how Vash’s voice squeaked. “Ah, you haven’t finished...”
“Finished? I haven’t gotten anything besides fuel, Tongari.” He says and sees Vash deflating. “Not a problem, though. I like holding a bit more than I should.”
“So you’re up for more than just this night?”
“Of course, told you so.”
Vash smiled at him. He smiled back.
“You need a haircut and a shave, though. I can’t keep sucking an old man’s dick.”
