After the game against Rennes, the psg locker room was in high spirits. Finally a win after weeks of losing in both the champions league and ligue 1 games. They managed to beat Rennes 5:3 with Neymar and Messi scoring two goals each and Mbappe putting one in.
“Let’s do Karaoke!”, an already drunk Sergio Ramos yelled. As the team stumbled into a bar they felt the stares of the people on them.
As the captain Marquinhos stepped forward and ordered the first round of drinks for everyone except for Kylian and Achraf who both just got apple juice.
“I’ll go first”, Sergio looked through the songs until he smirked mischievous. “We’re no strangers to love…” everyone groaned or buried their heads in their arms. “... Never gonna give you up”, at this point sobs could be heard from the psg team.
After Ramos finished his beautiful performance a drunk argentine duo consisting of Leandro Paredes and Angel Di Maria stepped forward to sing muchachos in the most crooked voices humanity has ever heard. Leo's teammates just laughed at him as he turned as red as a tomato.
Next up was Neymar who stood up on shaky legs and chose a song.
“I saw you dancing in a crowded room, you look so happy when I’m not with you. But then you saw me, caught you by surprise, a single teardrop falling from your eyes .”
As Ney sang this he looked Leo straight in his eyes.
“I don't know why I ran away. I’ll make you cry when I run away.” At this point Neymar felt ready to cry and looking at leo he was too”
“You could've asked me why I broke your heart. I could've told you that I fell apart. But you walked past me like I wasn't there. I don't know why I ran away, I made you cry when I ran away. Take me back cause I wanna stay. Save your tears for another. Save your tears for another day.”
The tears were falling freely now and Leo also looked like he was on the verge of crying.
The newer players looked confused and concerned at what was happening while the argentines huddled closer to their captain, wanting him to know that they were there for him.
“So I made you think that I would alway stay, I said some things that I should never say. Yeah I broke your heart like someone did to mine and now you won’t love me for a second time., … take me back cause I wanna stay save your tears for another. I realize that I’m much too late and you deserve someone better”, the brazilian belted that part from the top of his lungs. Messi excused himself and rushed to the bathroom stalls. Leandro, Angel and Sergio immediately went to follow him but their captain stopped them with a shake of his head, pointing to Neymar who was following Leo. “Leo? Are you alright? I’m so sorry I hurt you.” as he heard retching sounds from one of the stalls his concern increased by a tenfold. “Mi amor are you ok? Please open the door”, the number 10 begged. As the door swung open he felt relief which quickly died down as he saw his best friend bent over the toilet. He quickly knelt by him and rubbed his back soothingly. “That's it, it will be alright querido.” As it died down. The older man leaned back against the wall, exhausted. “I’m sorry for not trying harder Ney.” he forced out with a broken voice. “Hey none of that, it was my fault I left alright? I didn't even give you time to stop me. I’m so incredibly sorry amor, I never should’ve left you. I hope you can forgive me.”
“I never not forgave you Ney. I just missed you so, so much. With you leaving and then Andres and Luis I was so lonely.” Neymar's heart broke as he heard that. “I’ll never leave you again leo, I promise”
“Don't promise things you can’ keep Ney…”, were Leo’s last words before he fell asleep.
“I know”, the younger whispered into the silence.
