Three rules

Summary:

The straw hats didn’t often have the chance to go out together as a group very often, between working towards their dreams and being wanted criminals, island stays typical didn’t last very long.

But when the chance arises for the group to have some fun, of course they’re gonna take it!

As long as the rules are followed.

3 simple rules.

1. Don’t wonder
2. Don’t accept food/ drink from anyone BUT THE CREW
3. Don’t start a fight

// or Luffy doesn’t EVER listen and the crew has a heart attack.

Chapter Text

One thing that crew always looked forward to was restock days.
The days where they had to dock at a new island, stock up and maybe relax a little.

It was always an adventure, meeting new people, seeing new things.
The crew always tried to plan a day to explore, of course prioritizing the needs first.

But this island had every one just a tad more excited.
It was a party island after all, it was known for its bars and clubs.

Even more so, it was a pirate friendly island.

So of course the Straw hats would partake in the fun, going out as crew didn’t happen very often, especially all together.

So when a chance arises, they take it.

Which is why they all had rules.
That’s a lie, Luffy had rules.
3 simple rules.

1. Don’t wonder
2. Don’t accept food/ drink from anyone BUT THE CREW
3. Don’t start a fight

And Nami made sure that he knew.

“Stupid are you even listening to me!?” The orange haired woman exclaimed, slapping Luffys shoulder.

And in typical fashion, luffy turned to her with a confused look.
“Wha- Nami-san I was listening.” He lied, grinning as he adjusted the hat on his head.

“Idiot, then what did she say?” Zoro scoffed out staring at luffy with his arms crossed, he was only here for the booze, and he was already impatient.

Luffy glanced to Nami and rubbed the back of his head.
“Uhhh something about food?” He stated, chuckling after.

“Tch, of course that’s all you heard.” Sanji mumbled, he let out a huff of smoke, before pulling his cigarette back to his lips.
“Pay attention idiot.” He muttered.

Luffy pouted but turned back to Nami anyway, waiting for her to explain what she said earlier. She stood in front of the group. And he couldn’t help but tilt his head.

She had a new dress- no not new, Robin wore that last week.
Mhh. He should tell her later that purple was a nice color on her.

Nami crossed her arms.
“Don’t wonder off.” She stated, snapping her fingers when Luffys eyes drifted away.

Luffy slouched his shoulders, he glanced over to the entrance of the club.
It was one of the larger ones.

Two stories, lots of lights too.
And loud. Luffy could hear the music all the way from out here.

Someone could definitely get lost in there..

“And don’t take food from anyone!” She stated drawing Luffys attention back over to her.
He pouted.

“Whaa? But what if I get hungry!” He whined out.

“Then come to one of us luffy-san” Robin hummed out,
She wasn’t too excited to be at a club, hence the little book she held in her hands.
She wasn’t really dressed for it either, she wore pants albeit black leather pants.
And a dark blue tank top… come to think of it, he was certain Nami wore that the other day too.

She probably planned to sit at the private table Nami rented, all night.
Maybe dance a little, but mostly read.

“Yeah luffy bro, don’t accept food from strangers!” Franky stated, he stood near Robin, and would probably stay that way for the whole night.
He wore a silly blue floral top, unbuttoned of course. And his signature red Speedo.

Luffy huffed and turned back to Nami, which urged her to continue.

“And don’t start a fight! That goes for all of you!” She stated, glaring at Luffy, Sanji and Zoro in particular.

She hopes they listen. But with the three of them there’s no telling.

“Of course Nami-San I would never go against your rules!” Sanji swooned, Nami just rolled her eyes.

“Ok, we’re going to go to the booth I booked for us first, so everyone knows where it is. Then we can all enjoy the festivities.” She explained.

“Keep these wristbands on, if you take it off you can’t get back in.” She added, as she handed out a bunch of obnoxious yellow paper wristlets.

She turned around and began walking towards the entrance of the club.

Luffy was practically jumping as he followed.
This was a new adventure. A new place, new food to try.
In that moment Luffy realized how hungry he was.

He hoped this place had meat, or at least something he could sink his teeth into.

As the group entered the club, flashing lights blinded them all.
And like a punch to the senses, it all came at them at once.

The air was hot, and smokey, it smelled like alcohol, bodies and distinctly of tobacco.

Luffy schrunched up his nose, it was a bit overwhelming.

The sound wasn’t any better.
The music playing, could be felt through the floor, lots of electronic noises and booms of drums.

Cheering, singing, yelling.
Luffy could hear at least four different conversations going on right now, as he followed.

Quickly the captain reached for the closest people to himself, which so happens to be Usopp and Brook.

“It’s so loud! Yohoho!” Brook yelled down towards the straw hat wearing pirate, if the skeleton could smile luffy would guess he’d be doing that.

Usopp was the only one who grabbed Luffys hand when he reached, turning back to give the captain a reassuring smile.

Usopp himself looked a little overwhelmed, the other was never a fan of crowds.
Luffy turned to look behind him.

Zoro and Sanji were walking behind them, they looked like scary dogs.
Sanji had his hands in his pockets, and a cigarette hanging from his lips. He had a frown on his lips. Probably because of something Zoro said.

Zoro looked ready to B line it to the bar, he had his arms crossed, he was leaning towards Sanji, his lips were moving but it was too loud for luffy to make out what he was saying.
Zoro leaned down, and when he came back up, there was chopper, sitting on his shoulder, the raindeer was looking around in awe.

Behind them Robin and Franky, they were having a conversation.

Luffy turned back towards the front, he felt Usopp let go of his hand, he didn’t pay much kind to it.

Nami was leading them through the crowd like an expert navigator she was.
In her hand a little ticket, and what looked to be a menu.
It was too dark for luffy to make out what any of it red from this distance.

Soon enough she stopped, which caused the captain to run into her.
“Wa-Nami-San why’d ya stop?” He asked, instead of backing away, the rubber man just slipped his arms around her torso, resting his chin against her shoulder.

Nami glanced back at Luffy with a roll of her eyes, so used to his clingy touches, she didn’t bother to push him away.
“This is our booth okay?” She stated, which had luffy peeking over to look.

It was a large booth, built into the wall. It was private, and even had some dark red curtains drawn aside.

It was big, and round, in a c shaped format, with a dark wooden table at the center.
Instantly Robin slid into the booth, settling herself in the middle.

“Oooh this is so fancy!~” Brook exclaimed as he also slid into the booth, running his boney fingers over the leather seats.

Nami wiggled her way out of Luffys arms, moving toward the table she slapped the menu down on the table.
“This is a drink menu, if you want anything delivered to the table remember the table number, 32.” She stated, as the rest of the crew gathered around.

Chopper hopped off Zoros shoulder and crawled into the booth, he planted himself right next Robin and smiled.

“This place is so big!” Chopper exclaimed, luffy laughed in agreement.
“Yeah which is why-“ Nami turned to luffy.
“You and Zoro have to have a buddy system.” She stated taking a seat down on the edge off the booth.

Zoro huffed at that.
“What!? I don’t need a buddy I’m not gonna get lost!” He scoffed out,
Sanji cackled at that.
“Marimo you have no internal compass.” He stated.

“Yeah I’m agreeing with Sanji on this one, Zoro.” Usopp spoke up as he too went to sit down in the booth.

Luffy cavkled, “let’s go get food!” He exclaimed reaching forward and grabbing Sanji and Zoros hands.

“Check back here every 30 minutes!” He heard Nami exclaim as he dragged his first mate and cook away.

Luffy looked around, there were so many people, dancing, smoking..doing other unmentionable things.
“Where’s the food!?” He huffed out turning to Sanji, as if he’d know where the food would be.
He is a chef after all.

Sanji rolled his eyes.
“Why the fuck are you asking me!” He huffed, digging into his pockets for his cigarette box.

Luffy shrugged.
“You’re a chef!” He hummed. Reaching over to grab Sanji’s hands, just as he was about to go for his lighter.

“The bars are on the second floor.” Zoro muttered, looking to the side of them annoyed.
Did Luffy seriously had to stop in the middle of the dance floor?
“If we find the bars we find the food.” Had added, stowing forward a slight held step to Ovid getting pumped into.

“Or course you know where the booze is, shitface.” Sanji sneered out.

“Shut up shitty-“
“Fooood.” Luffy groaned in frustration.

“Oh my god fine!” Sanji hummed turning and dragging luffy along to the stairs, Soro trailing behind.

“I hope they have meat!” Luffy exclaimed, as he quickly picked up his pace, taking the stairs two at a time.
Sanji let go of his hand and instead yanked luffy back by the waistband of his shorts.

“Don’t run idiot, your gonna get lost.” Sanji scolded, pulling the boy into his side, wrapping an arm around his shoulder,
Zoro caught up with them at the top of the stairs.

Sanji moved to follow Zoro, making sure to not loose his sight of the green haired man. And when they stopped, luffy moved immediately to claim a bar stool.

Zoro and Sanji taking the two to his sides.

— —

Luffy reached for his second glass of water, turning around in his barstool as he gulped the rest of it down.
His fourth plate of food laid empty on the counter top.

He stopped to glance at Zoro, who if he could guess, was already on his second bottle of Sake, and his 8th shot of whatever.

“Can ‘Ro order me something?”he asked leaning forward , to smile up at the swordsman’s

“Sure…something sweet right?” Zoro mumbled leaning his head back as he signaled for the bartender. He was used to ordering something for luffy, the captain was always to lazy to remember the stuff he liked in drinks.
So he always left it to soro.

Zoro never complained.

Luffy smiled, shaking his head,
“Thanks Zoro!” He hummed out, swirling around in his chair again, this time turning his attention to Sanji,

The blonde, still nursing his first bottle of wine, turning when he senses the captains eyes on him.
He pulled the cigarette out of his mouth.

“What.” He mumbled leaning forward to he could hear the captains words over the music.

“Can we go find Nami? And Usopp I want to dance.” He stated confidently, turning his body back towards the bar.

Sanji shrugged.
“Yeah but convince the Meathead to com along.” He stated. Sanji turned on his stool to use the bar top as a rest for his elbows.

Luffy turned back to Zoro, just as a glass with pink liquid was sat down between them.
Zoro slid the drink closer to luffy.

“I wanna go find Nami and Usopp!” He stated, using his hand to amplify his words.
He took the drink, lifting it up to pour it down his throat, the sweetness masking the taste of the liquor.

“Sure.” He mumbled grabbing his bottle.
Luffy smiled and slid off his stool, turning to grab Sanji’s hand.

— —

When the three got to the booth, there were only three members of the crew that had remained in their seats.

Robin, Chopper and Franky.

Brook, Nami and Usopp missing.

“Oi, where’d Nami and Usopp go?” Zoro asked, setting his bottle down, and then sitting himself.

Robin looked up from her book,
“Nami and Usopp went to dance,” she Answered, luffy slid into the booth by franky, who was eating from a plate of nachos.

He reached forward and grabbed some himself.

“Wha’about’brook?” He asked through his mouth full of Nachos.
Sanji scrunched up his nose in disgust.
“He went to find the Dj booth!” Chapped exclaimed.

Sanji hummed.
“Alright then, let’s go find Nami and Usopp.” He sighed, sliding his finished cigarette into his jacket pocket.

Luffy got up with a ‘whoop!’
He almost stripped, trying to slide out of the booth.
“Woah!” He laughed as he put his arms out to steady himself.
Zoro stood up, leaving his Sake with Franky.

Sanji lead them into the crowd of the dance floor.
Luffy did his best to keep an eye on Sanji’s back.

He didn’t bother to glance back to see if Zoro was followingS

“Ah! Sanji!” He heard Usopp exclaim, so he turned his head to the side.
Nami stood beside him, she had a glass with a purple liquid in it.
Luffy moved towards them.

“Did you fill up?” Nami asked when he got closer, to which Luffy eagerly nodded his head.
He reached for her drink, snatching it and downing it.

“Hey that was mine!” She huffed.
Sanji gently slapped the back of his head.
“How could you be so rude to the lady?” He huffed.

“Hey wasn’t Zoro with you?” Nami asked, already over her stolen drink, she stepped closer two to hear them.

“Mh-oh shit, we lost Zoro.” Sanji huffed.
Usopp groans rubbing his face.
Luffy turnerd around with a chuckle.

“Seriously Sanji?” Nami huffed.
“Fuuck ok Ill go find him.” Sanji cursed and turned, disappearing in the crowd.

“Let’s dance!” Luffy exclaimed, turning his attention back to Nami.
The rubber man stretched his arms out, wrapping his arms around Nami and pulling her closer.

— —

They danced for 30 minutes, we’ll if you could call jumping up and down sporadicall.
Luffy kept one arm loosly around Nami, with the other around Usopp.

Nami leaned into Luffys ear,
“We should go back to the table.” She yelled.
“Ok!” He yelled back.
Nami turned and started to walk her way through the crowd, hooking Usopp’s arm with his.

Luffy turned, intent on following them, he was about to reach out to grab Nami’s hand, when someone walked between them.
Causing the straw hat to stop.

When the person passes however, Luffy notices he can’t see Nami again.

Luffy frowmed, and turned, looking around in all direction to try and spot orange hair or a long nose.

Luffy sighed when he couldn’t find them.
So he turned, facing the stairs, he started making his way there.

That’s a family spot, so if he goes there and waits, maybe he could find Sanji or Zoro?

However he didn’t get far before someone was placing their hand on his shoulder.
He paused, glancing over to the side.

“Luffy?” He man asked, he looked plain. Dark Brown hair, and green eyes.
He had a mustache that kinda reminded him of Sanji’s.

“Mh? Yeah that’s me!” He exclaimed, a hand reaching up to push his straw hat back.

The man smiled, handing a drink to the pirate.
“This is from your friend Zoro!” They stated, and before luffy could even say a word, they rushed away.

Luffy looked down at the drink. It was blue, and fizzy, it had a fruit slice resting on the edge.

Mhh, we’ll the guy said it from Zoro, so technically that counted as from the crew.

Shrugging, the ravenett lifted the drink to his lips, and downed it.

— —

Nami stopped at the table, sliding in and pulling Usopp down with here.
“Robin you should join us for one dance!” She said smiling and reaching over to pet Choppers head.

The poor raindeer was out like a light on her lap.
“I suppose one song wouldn’t hurt.” She smiled, placing her book mark into her page. And gently closing it.

“Hey dude did you see luffy, Sanji and Zoro-bro?” Franky asked, moving his robotic arm to rest on the top of the seat,

“Well yeah Luffys-“ Usopp started before pausing.
He turned to the side and his eyes widened.
“Oh my god Luffys gone!” He exclaimed in a shriek.

Nami sputtered and turned to glance out of the booth.

“But he was right behind us!?” She exclaimed.

“What?” A voice came in, Sanji stepping close with a Zoro behind him, it looked like Sanji was dragging Zoro by his robes.

The swordsman had another bottle and a glass in his hands.

“We lost Luffy!” Usopp cried out, already covering his face in shame.

“What!?” The two men exclaimed.
Nami pushed passed Usopp to get out of the booth.

“Let’s go find him before he starts something! Sanji Zoro, go check the bar! Usopp come help me look in the dance floor, franky! Find Brook and then check the restrooms!”
Nami barked out, grabbing Usopp and tugging him with her as she walked away.

— —

Luffy hadn’t gotten very far up the stairs before he started to feel funny.
Suddenly the world started to spin, and his brain started to feel weird.

Luffy reached for the rail, and clutching it so he wouldn’t fall.

He knew he was a light weight but he had only three drinks, three drinks wouldn’t have affected him so suddenly.

Luffy frowned and began to climb the rest of the stairs almost stumbling, and tripping once he got to the top.

He looked up, find the bar, if he could find the bar, he could sit, and wait for his crew.
Zoro was probably at the bar anyway.

Luffy took in a deep breath before letting go of the railing, he began to weave his way through the people.

“You look lost.” A voice came from his side,
Luffy glanced to see the man from before, the one who gave him the drink.

He squinted, he had another guy with him, the man was tall, and had some muscle packed on.
He looked sleezy, and was smoking a cheap cigarette.

“Looking for your friends?” The man from earlier asked.

Luffy furrowed his brows and nodded.
“You know where they are?” He asked briefly.

The man nodded.
“Come on I’ll take you to them.” He stated reaching for Luffy, luffy was about to take a step back before he felt something sharp like the back of his neck.

“Ouch!” He exclaimed slapping his neck and turning around.
Before he could get a good look at the offender behind him, he suddenly felt extremely dizzy,

Woah, the world is spinning! Luffy felt his knees buckle, as arms scooped him up.

A nap sounded good…
