“Ron, what the hell is this about?”
Hermione and Ron were sitting at their kitchen table. Hermione had just gotten home from her day at work and was looking forward to a relaxing evening with the book she was currently reading and her husband.
She was exhausted from a day with the kids she was teaching. Hermione was one of the founding members of a pre-Hogwarts preschool/elementary school. Currently, she was working with the kindergartners and was loving her job. She never expected that this would be the path she would take when she was at Hogwarts, but this is where life had led her. She had more so expected to go into research or something political, like her role model did. But instead, the opportunity to teach had fallen into her lap, and she just had to take it.
Then again, she had also never planned on being married to Ronald Weasley. The very same boy that had made her cry and spent her first Halloween feast at Hogwarts alone. Well, almost alone. But that was beside the point. Later during their 6th year, they had gotten together as a couple. And almost immediately after graduating, he had asked her to marry him. Of course, she said yes and they got married nine months later.
Since then, it has been a good six years. They sometimes had their disagreements and their arguments, but it always worked out in the end. Ron was on the more laid-back side of things, while Hermione was all engines on high. That was also one of the things that had caused some of the fightings, but they usually worked through those instances. But this? What was he thinking?
“I thought it might be a good idea, Hermione! I mentioned doing it a while back, at least my part of the challenge, but we didn’t really ever talk more about your side.”
Hermione was blushing like mad. “Ronald, you know how embarrassing it is for me to talk about… that.”
“Sex?” Hermione just went redder at Ron’s comment.
“Yes! I know you enjoy it a lot, but for me it just… I can’t think about it without…” she was losing to the blush.
Hermione Weasley could not talk about sex. She could barely think about it without getting flustered. Ron was the one who would almost always initiate anything between the two of them, and that was just fine by Hermione. She enjoyed it, quite a bit in the moment, but it was never really her favorite thing in the world. Not to mention that her strict upbringing didn’t help in her views on sex. So, she was a bit sexually repressed. Ron always did his best to make it great for her, which it usually was, but sometimes she just couldn’t find the energy. With Ron, it felt like he couldn’t find the energy to NOT want sex. He seemed to be always turned on and ready to go.
“And that’s why this works so well!” Ron was now motioning with his hands in grand gestures. “Just think about it. You say that I think about sex and stuff too much. So this challenge would force me to not masturbate or get myself off. Plus, I heard that not masturbating or cumming gets testosterone up and it might help with impulse control! And I always say that you don’t think enough about sex. So this challenge would get you out of your comfort zone and make you more comfortable with yourself in a sexual manner! I see this as a win-win for us!”
Sometimes, just sometimes, Ron had some good ideas. He wasn’t an idiot or anything like that, regardless of what his grades in school were like, but he did have a good amount of wisdom that would make a grand appearance every so often. This was one of those times. And Hermione couldn’t find an argument against it.
“FINE! We will do this challenge, or whatever you call it. But! We will have some ground rules to follow. Understood?” At Ron’s nod, Hermione continued, “Good. Rule 1, We don’t talk about what I do. It would be way too embarrassing for me, okay?”
“But then how would I know that you are actually doing the challenge and not just saying you are?” Damn, he was good. But it wasn’t like she wasn’t going to go along with this. This challenge had piqued her interest slightly, by the way Ron described it.
“That leads me to Rule 2. Rule 2, I will write a letter every day, detailing the new sexual act I did. How I will find 45 things to do by myself over the course of this challenge, I guess I will just have to figure that out as we go.”
“Well, you wouldn’t have to do it by yourself.”
That gave Hermione pause. “What?”
“Yeah. You know that I have gotten off on some of that wife-sharing stuff that I found online a while back. So I thought that maybe if you wanted or were having trouble finding things to do, you could do something with someone else. I think I would be fine with that. Anyways, I was your first, but you weren’t my first. So this might be a chance to see what is out the-”
“Okay okay! I get it! You don’t need to continue!” This might have been the reddest Ron had ever seen her. She was almost glowing. “I don’t know. I- I am. Can we just see where this goes? I don’t know if I’d even want to… do- do things with other people. Can we just go one day at a time? This is already hard enough, Ronald.”
“Sure, we can do that. I don’t want to push you. But I was just saying, it is an option.” He paused for a moment. “Wow, who would have thought Hermione Weasley would be saying she wanted to take things one day at a time? Mrs. ‘I always have my calendar filled out.’” Ron laughed.
Even six years later, she was still feeling weird about being called Hermione Weasley. She liked her old last name, Granger, quite a lot. But she had decided not to hyphenate her name because she thought Ron and his family wouldn’t like that. Particularly his mother. Molly Weasley would absolutely not like that.
This rule-making went on for a little while longer, and they finally had a list of rules that would be followed, including what the challenge was for both of them.
Rules of the Challenge
Rule 1) Hermione must find something new to do, sexually, every day for 45 days. Ron must keep himself from masturbating and having sex for those same 45 days.
Rule 2) If either party fails in their end of the agreement, a punishment will be enacted upon them. For Hermione, she will be required to tell Ron about what she did that previous day, by word of mouth. For Ron, should he orgasm before the 45 days are up, he will be required to either: a) wear a chastity cage OR b) be subject to the Chastity Charm . These punishments can be revisited if necessary.
Rule 3) Hermione will write a letter every day, detailing what she did during that day. This letter will be given to Ron the next day. Failure to do so will result in the punishment from Rule 2.
Rule 4) Ronald is not allowed to read the letter in the presence of Hermione. Ronald is not allowed to talk about what Hermione has written in the letters or ask what she did during that day. If Ron breaks this rule, he will be subject to a punishment of Hermione’s choosing. The punishment must be directed at Ron.
Rule 5) Ron must dispose of the letters after reading them. Burn them. Shred them. They must be gotten rid of. Failure to do so will result in a major punishment.
Rule 6) Depending on the punishments and other variables, the end date of this challenge might be pushed back. The end date will never be less than 45 days from the start.
Rule 7) Rules can be amended as needed. Both Ron and Hermione must agree on the rule changes.

And with that, the 45-day challenge was starting soon. Today was October 7th. This gave both of them some time to prepare for the challenge ahead.
Neither would nor could possibly be prepared for what this challenge would bring.
