Work Text:

Green held on to Purple’s hand, his tired body battered and bruised, scars, cuts, and burns he covered up scattered across his oh-so perfect body. They skipped, hand in hand, down a worn-out road the two had walked down many times. You’d think Red would be the most damaged from home reckless Red could be, but no. Not even close to what he’s been through.

He’d been burned alive, beaten by that stupid creature, attacked by silverfish, had his body taken over, his creations destroyed, and lost a lot of fights.

Maybe the only thing that kept him holding on was his ego, the fact he thought his ‘friends’ still cared for him, but the concert…

Oh, that fateful night…

At least he has someone . He wouldn’t be alone in death, at least he’d have Purple, xe understood him. It was just them on this night, the night where they’d let go of everything that bothered them.

He had his usual headphones and black tank-top and skirt on, xe had their green bandana wrapped around their head, accompanied by a mango coloured scarf around their neck. They both held flowers in their hand, his purple, xyrs green.

Hm, what? They couldn’t just die not looking good, now could they?

He continued to smile as they stopped on a cliff, looking down, it was a height neither of them would survive. Nobody loved him, nobody but Purple, Purple was the only one there for him. He looked up at xem, “Happy birthday?” He muttered, his voice quiet and broken.

“Happy birthday.” Purple nodded as the two of them backed up, to get a running start. As they started to run, they dropped the flowers they were holding. They finally jumped, they’d die, hand in hand, together. They’d be free, free together. No pain, no more hurt, no more of trying to be better, no more dealing with what their partners thought, just them.

Just them…
