Chapter Text
There are many universes that form the web of life and destiny. In many of those dimensions there is a spider-totem and or avatar, most of them being Peter Parkers. This is not one of those dimensions but it almost was. This is Earth 68’s story.
Oscorp. The company founded and ran by Norman Osborn, that specialises in biochemistry and it was currently home to 42 genetically modified spiders and 31 high school students on a field trip. They won this field trip by winning their state Academic decathlon tournament.
One student on this trip is Peter Benjamin Parker, son of Mary and Richard Parker (Both thoroughly deceased when Parker was 4 years old in a mysterious avian incident), took care of Ben and may parker. He is 13, almost 14 and in his first year of high school at Midtown school of science and technology. And he had been looking forward to this trip since it was announced 2 months prior (january), he even managed to get bursary so that May and Ben didn't have to work too much overtime since they believed that he had a real chance at making a difference in the world and was willing to do anything to allow him to do so. And Peter himself hated how much they had to work to support him, he saw how they constantly and consistently had bags under their eyes.
But I was going on a tangent there, let's just say he was very excited. He was walking around with his best friend and son of the CEO Harry Osborn, taking photos of everything from the entrance to the electron microscopes stored out in the open as if they were from the dollar store, not $10,000,000 pieces of equipment. So since he was so distracted he never noticed the escaped, genetically modified spider crawling towards him and it would have landed on him had Gwen Stacy not bumped into him by accident knocking herself into the spider's dropzone. The Spider, having been panicked by the drop bit the poor structure it was on, that happened to be Gwens right hand.
