Night Raven College was known for having a talented selection of students. From astounding academic performance, rising athletic stars and those talented within the arts. However, it lacks stable counseling…
Students are claiming that they are stressed from the overwhelming amount of work and the pressure from exams. Some have even claimed that they are experiencing high levels of depression! Oh great seven…
From the amount of overblots that occurred during the past few months, this is something that simply cannot be ignored!
So what does the headmage of Night Raven College, Dire Crowley, do to avoid getting discipline from the higher ups and gain a good word from students?
Set up a field trip of course! Oh, Dire Crowley the genius that you are!
The plan is, by the end of January, the staff and Crowley himself will announce the trip after students have all finished their end of the semester exams.
They’ll be jumping for joy for sure! To finally be able to have a few days off campus to enjoy the nice weather and have fun with their friends (that is if they have any…).
Now…time to look into those group sales.

The Ramshackle dorm was starting to feel like home for Yuu. The ghosts were nice enough to hang around and Grim is…just Grim. And every now and then a certain pair of eel twins swing by to bully hangout.
Staring at the blank canvas, Yuu sighs. He hasn’t been able to complete a whole art piece in a while ever since the start of exam week. All he’s got are unfinished paintings and some drawings in his sketchbook.
Those exams were an absolute disaster but he and Grim were able to pass with a decent grade of 72 out of 100. No deals had to be made this time for Grim to pass.
Seeing his dorm mate smile along with his classmates for passing made Yuu pleased.
A celebratory meal is definitely needed!
Before making his way down the stairs to the kitchen, Yuu feels a buzz from his pocket. It was a notification from the group chat:

Yuu: ACE SHUT THE FUCK UP. NO I DO NOT.

Ace: Yooo guys! Apparently there’s gonna be an assembly tomorrow!
Deuce: Really? Where did you get this information from?
Ace: I overheard Riddle and Trey talkin in the lobby after dinner
Ace: From what I heard it sounds like it could be something good
Epel: Oh yeah! I heard Vil and Rook discussing it too!
Epel: I think about a trip or something…
Jack: Leona and Ruggie were talking as well. Ruggie looked… excited.
Sebek: A trip? Of what kind?
Epel: Not sure…It might be something worth hearing about tomorrow
Epel: Hey Yuu 👋
Ace: Yo Yuu we see you online
Yuu: Hey boys. What’s this about a trip?
Deuce: We’re not too keen if it will actually be a trip. The headmage could just congratulate those who passed the exams.
Sebek: Well whatever the case, we should be fully prepared for what is to be announced.
Jack: Yeah. Make sure you guys wear your robes.
Ace: Yessirrrrr🫡
A trip huh? Another chance to explore outside of NRC. It would be fun to goof around with the boys outside of school.
”Oi hench-human! The look-alike twins are here again!” Grim yells from the dorm lobby.
Geez, what do they want from me this time…
”Yeah, I’ll be right there!”
Reaching the bottom, Yuu is immediately embodied with warmth(?). He feels something squeeze his smaller form and feels himself get lifted into the air. Turning his head, Yuu is faced with a wide grin filled with sharp teeth.
”Shrimpyyy~ We’re here to see you again! Ahahahah!”
It was none other than Floyd Leech. Yuu’s number one enemy on campus…
Don’t get Yuu wrong, he loves the guy. Floyd is real fun to be around but being chased around school was not fun. It was like playing cat and mouse with him. Yuu being the mouse in this case and also not wanting to really play this game that sort of developed on its own. Floyd’s mood swings are hard to deal with most of the time, but Yuu never fails to make him feel better somehow (a sigh of relief from everyone). But if Yuu gets into some trouble with bullies, Floyd never hesitates to scare them off or threaten them. He’s definitely supportive when needed.
”Now, now Floyd. Let’s respect the Prefect in his dorm. We don’t want to scare him away. Fufufufu~”
And Jade Leech, the other twin. Who, at first glance, may seem like the better twin to be hanging around with but alas, it is the same result. That friendly smile and gentlemanly personality could fool anyone to do his bidding. You may end up dead one day if you somehow get manipulated to test out his strange collection of flora to see if they’re edible…Despite that, Jade is, dare Yuu say, quite cute. Jade’s love for mushrooms is amusing and seeing that spark in his eye whenever Yuu asks questions makes him short-circuit. Jade is also very good at giving advice and helping with magic-related homework.
Regardless of the weird relationship Yuu has with the eel twins, he never hesitates to deepen their bond in return.
Yuu would often watch Floyd play basketball from the bleachers and hand him snacks during his games. Floyd even showed Yuu his shoe collection and how he takes care of them. Yuu is also an honorary member in Jade’s club. Going out on hikes, discovering new species of fungi and joining him in terrarium making (much to Floyd’s dismay).
”Hey—Ack! Floyd, you can put me down now!”
Floyd snickers and carries Yuu to the couch, setting him down to sit. The twins then take a seat on the couch themselves on their own respective side of the couch.
“What do you two want? I already told Azul I’m open to work at the Lounge this weekend.” Yuu says as he lays back.
Floyd starts to play with the boy’s hoodie strings as Jade turns to face them.
Speaking of Azul, their bond is also strange as well. After the overblot situation with Jamil, Azul seems to become more comfortable around Yuu. He was even able to pick up a job to work at Mostro Lounge during winter break. Azul is a pretty decent guy to hang out with. He’s respectful, smart and never hesitates to help Yuu. That's if you can get around his constant offerings to make a deal…If memory serves him right, it was Azul who had placed his jacket on top of Yuu when he accidentally fell asleep on the couch in the VIP Lounge. Yuu is a proud member of the Annoy Azul Club, being listed as “headache #3”.
”Ah, it’s not about the Lounge this time. I’m certain you have heard of the assembly being held tomorrow for a surprise announcement?”
“Yeah…Are we really going on a trip? Do you know?” Yuu asked, looking back at the calm twin for a response. Jade simply smiles and pushes some hair behind Yuu’s ear.
”If we tell ya it won’t be a surprise! You just gonna have to wait and see shrimpy.” Floyd giggles, as he bared his teeth.
“Yes, where would the fun be if we told you? However…” Jade’s smile widens. His teeth are also showing. “If you really want to know, there will be a price to pay.”
Yuu gulps.
Before he could answer, Grim pops up in the lobby.
“Yuu! Quit flirtin’ with the look-alike twins! Im hungryyyy! Can we eat dinner already?” the cat monster huffed. Perfect timing Grim!
Getting up from the couch, Yuu takes this as a chance to escape from the twins.
”Oh right, sorry Grim! I’ll open two cans of tuna for you today. You deserve it for passing… Also, I was not flirting with them!” Yuu argues.
The twins get up as well, cackling as they follow the two ramshackle members. Clearing his throat, Yuu opened the kitchen cabinet filled with cans of tuna.
“Uh…did you guys eat already? I’m gonna make some beef stew tonight.”
Floyd and Jade look at each other, as if they were communicating with their minds (lowkey they probably are), then back at Yuu.
”Shrimpy’s food! I like the sound of that!” Floyd beams as he opens the fridge.
Jade sighs, ”Floyd, you can’t just open someone’s fridge without permission. Apologies on his behalf. We will be delighted to have some, Prefect.”
Yuu laughs as he scoops the tuna into Grim’s bowl. “It’s cool. You guys practically live here with how often you visit—Here Grim, don’t eat too fast!—And you know Jade, you and Azul can just call me Yuu. Or some weird nickname like Floyd does, heh.”
“Not shrimpy though! He’s only shrimpy to me!” shot Floyd as he gathers the ingredients from the fridge he assumed Yuu would need.
Jade chuckles as he takes off his uniform jacket to roll up his shirt sleeves. “As you wish…Yuu. I will inform Azul of this as well.”

With the twins helping out with cutting the veggies and picking out the seasonings for the meat with whatever Yuu had, the stew came out really good.
”Mmmm, Shrimpy’s food is the best!” praised Floyd. “Now I wanna see what else you can cook up!”
Jade hums in agreement. “This is quite delicious! The taste of the stew itself and the way beef just melts in the mouth is superb. Well done, Yuu! Maybe you can be our second lead chef.”
Yuu averts his eyes away from Floyd and Jade, he can feel his fingers slide off the spoon from his clammy hands. “A-ahaha…is-is it really that good?”
”Yuuup, and since you fed us, we can tell ya a bit about what’s up with the assembly now.” Floyd grins as he eats a piece of potato.
Grim looks between the trio and rolls his eyes.
”Wha—!? Feeding you counts?…Alright then, spill the beans. Are we going on a field trip or will it just be Crowley and the professors handing out achievements?” Yuu questions before eating a spoonful of rice.
”You were correct the whole time. We are indeed going on a trip. It is something the Headmage has not done for the school before and it will be quote…exhilarating. Octavinelle will be assisting in funds as well as travel expenses. That is all we will say.” Jade says, with the same smile as always, as he dabs his lips with a napkin.
Grim and Yuu share a look with each other.
”Well, it better not be boring! There ought to be lots of food and I wanna be able to run around too.” Grims exclaims, folding his arms.
Yuu pats his back, “I’m sure wherever we’re going it’ll be fun for us.”
Floyd and Jade share a laugh. Why are they being so ominous for…?
“Oya, it’s getting late. It seems it is time for us to head back to the dorm, Floyd.” Jade says as he gathers the plates to wash.
Taping his phone screen, Yuu checks the time and woah…it’s already past 10 pm! Were they really here for three hours…?
”Awww mann. I don’t really feel like goin’ back! I wanna stay with shrimpy!” Floyd glooms as he reaches to hug Yuu’s arm.
Yuu smiles at the taller boy and pats his head. “It’s okay Floyd! We’ll see each other tomorrow and during work.”
Drying his hands with a towel nearby, Jade makes his way back to the dining table.
”Ah almost forgot. Yuu, if you don’t mind…” Jade says as he…grabs something from Floyd’s jacket pocket? “Would you be so kind as to give us a portion for Azul? I’m sure he would be delighted to try your cooking!”
”You guys really came prepared for this huh…Alright, Alright fine. Does he like a lot of potatoes?”

Saying goodbye to Floyd and Jade when they visit Ramshackle is an experience itself. Watching Jade drag a very sad Floyd is always funny to watch.
And this field trip… Yuu has not gone on a school field trip in a long time. The last trip he went on was at some amusement park during middle school…He can’t quite remember. A number was in the name and flags???
Whatever. Yuu just hopes that Crowley had better paid for an amazing ass school trip or this will quite literally be his last straw with that bird man.
Sighing, Yuu closes the door and meets with Grim in the lobby.
”Ace is right... You really do have a cru—“
”I DO NOT! HUSH GRIM.”
